Yes. Got an email from them to check the portal, and a rejection in the messages on the GSMS

True... Canadian universities take quite long. Also, I hear that they are quite competitive and hard to get in.

I applied to one university in Ireland and one in Australia in late January and early February and I already have an offer from both.

For UofA, my status is still at prescreening. Lol!

EDIT: I've just woken up to an email from UofA to check my GSMS portal.

It's a REJECTION after the long wait.

Anyway, I expected it. So I'm really not surprised or affected by it.

Congratulations to all those who got offers to any Canadian university/universities, good luck to everyone waiting and those still on the waitlist.

For those who have been rejected, good luck in your future plans.

Whoa! Seems like UofA decided to forward/send all the rejection emails at once/at the same time. Lol!

Lol, I think so too..

Annoyingly funny ?

Has anyone heard from waterloo or lakehead? It's been a while and I hope I do not get rejections from them as well

Waterloo sent out an email saying they hope to get back to everyone by April 24

Update for waitlisted candidates for UBC MPH: I emailed UBC about their waitlist and whether we can know what position we are on the list. They still said unfortunately they can’t release that information to us.
I personally don’t think this is fair because they can’t even give us a firm date by which we can expect to hear a final decision.

Our acceptance deposits ($250) were due on April 8th and course registration is June 2nd, so people still have time to consider deferring/dropping. I know other SPPH masters programs (not allowed to name them) are accepting people from the waitlist that are local applicants, because they are less likely to want to defer or decline their offer due to covid, so waitlist rank doesn’t really matter. Hang tight!

I just declined Guelph's offer so hopefully a spot will be opened soon for someone.

And this means I won't be going to Canada this time around. I will be going to decide between either  Washington or Geneva.

Thank you all nice people here for helping me and sharing every moment through this hard process. I wish you all success and the best. Will try to remain here for a bit to try and help with the discussions if I can.

Stay safe.

This might not be the right place to ask this, but have you guys heard from your schools/programs about how they’re going to proceed with the fall sem with regards to COVID-19? Like is it going to be all online, or a mix or online and in-person, or some other option.

Apparently, UofT wants to wait until May/June to discuss the fall sem, which sounds reasonable. But I’m just curious if other unis have started planning and what they’re doing.

UBC emailed and said they're still unsure of their fall enrolment and are unsure of how the physical distancing practices will affect their fall enrolment. But that's all that I've heard.

Got my rejection from Queen's today! I'm not too sad (hurts the ego a bit though) because I actually am going into my first choice grad program (Human genetics at McGill University) :) Good luck everyone and thank you for being so supportive and welcoming!!

I love my uni but UBC was late to move classes online when the outbreak started, so I expect us to follow what UofT does. As soon as one uni makes a decision for fall semester, the others will probably will hop on board. We will probably have to see what American programs such as medicine that start in July will do before we get a better idea.
