Any idea whether UNC Chapel Hill/Minnesota (Statistics) systematically released their (first round of) offers? I see a couple of acceptances on grad cafe, but nothing like a wave of acceptances/rejections etc. ?

thanks! I applied for statistics!

Congratulations! I also received a phone call from one professor today. It was unexpected so I could not express all of my interest. Did you receive the offer right after the interview?

UNC STOR has definitely sent out their first round of acceptances. There's a visit day in about a week, so I imagine after that they might get more final responses from students and maybe send out more acceptances if they have any open spots left. From what I can tell, their department doesn't really tend to send out rejections until late March/early April. Hope that helps. (And sorry about the decision purgatory you might be in at the moment. Not fun.)

Ahh. Luckily, I have offers from Ohio State, and 2 applied math schools, but UNC STOR is a school I'd like to attend. I was hoping to get at least an offer around the Minnesota-UNC STOR range, but I guess competition is just too tight for students from South Asia, and I'm not from a reputable Stats school from India or China. Let's see how it goes.

Has anyone heard from Colorado State or Oregon State for M.S?

I think Colorado St admits everyone into the same program (then you qualify for the PhD program later if that's what you want). I heard back from them in late January.

No but apparently the offers were out yesterday or the day before.

I haven't heard back from Michigan, too. Does not hearing back mean we're effectively waitlisted? I emailed them but no response.

Hello, you can see on gradcafe results section that they have sent offers to at least 10 people.

Yes, I saw that. I wasn't sure what not being informed meant. Effectively wait listed or denied.

I mean, if 10+ people report here, then you know offers are all out and is almost surely in higher number than what they expect to enrol. For example, I can see Duke sent 30+ people offers from the emailing list. I personally would take it as "denied" but you can have your personal interpretation as well.

This isn't true at all. This is their first wave of acceptances. Usually, top students have gotten into multiple places and will be inclined to accept (or at a minimum, turn down offers elsewhere). Michigan is trying to get a feel for how many more acceptances they can extend. Formal waitlists won't come for another month or so from Michigan, and acceptances can be sent out until early April, from my experience last year.

You should still have hope!

I've received an offer from IUPUI (biostat) with guaranteed funding for up to 5 years. They have a tight deadline of 28th Feb, though. Any ideas about their department?

Are they requiring you to respond by Feb 28 for funding? Because that would be violating the April 15 Resolution which Indiana University is a part of. I'm not familiar with the department, but talking to students and alumni should give you a better idea of what it's like there.
