Waitlisted, not upset though! Does anyone have any idea about how long applicants on the list have waited to hear back? Do we think we might have an update when Round 1 decisions come out?

Signed up for the webinar on Tuesday but maybe someone has some insight as to what to expect?

If you are waitlisted, you are up to the discretion of the institution. I know places that have called up the waitlist a few months before classes start. There is no standardized timeline per se.

Hey guys,

Sorry to jump in on your discussion about early action! I only recently confirmed that I wanted to apply to UChicago for the MCAPP and haven't started on my application so probably can't make the Round 1 deadline. Just wondering if anyone else is going for Round 2 (Jan 22), and if anyone knows what the chances are for offers at that stage? I'm a little concerned that they say the results for Round 2 will be out in late March as other universities I'm applying to are giving out offers in late Feb/mid March so I might have to decide whether to accept them before UChicago releases the Round 2 offers.

I would definitely suggest you do it early and make it to the round1. Round 2 is extremely competitive. So definitely make it before round 1 if you can.

Does anyone know where I can find a recording of the waitlist webinar? I tried the link that was sent in the email earlier today but it took me to the Chicago site and required me to log into my UChicago account (which I clearly don't have since I was waitlisted). I tried emailing admissions, but simply received an automated response about how they will be closed for Thanksgiving (tomorrow) and will reopen on Monday the 30th. If no one has access to the webinar link, would you be able to email me any notes you may have taken during the webinar? I'm not sure what else to do :(Thank you to anyone in advance who may be able to help.

Did anyone ask why MSCAPP students aren't considered for CEG?

I am also keen to know the answer to this. I did not ask, but I intend to, if admitted.

I am nervous about the number of funding opportunities for MSCAPP as most of the merit scholarships and fellowships seem to skew toward MPP: https://harris.uchicago.edu/admissions/financing-your-degree/scholarships-fellowships

Does anyone have any idea when the admissions committee will likely start releasing decisions for round 1 for MSCAPP? Do you think they will let us know in Jan?

Their website says that the decisions for Round 1 will be sent out my mid-Feb.

Just in case anyone else was wondering about the CEG fellowship, I asked in an email, and the admissions office said they wouldn't pick the candidates until the spring.

Does this include the Pearson fellowship?

I find it weird that they pick fellows so late, as it could impact where students decide to go to school ($$$). Would it be...before April 15th spring? Or May spring?

So there are scholarships to compete for a student and then there are prestige scholarships to give students extra opportunities + responsibilities. For the latter, they sometimes want to award only those they feel are strongly committed to the school already and fit the bill. What they don't want is to have a prestigious scholarship to be doled out to people that they don't believe fit the bill or award a scholarship that gets awkwardly passed on.

I did too... I don't think they would say "soon" if it was still mid-february ?? I'm thinking sometime this week or even later today

According to the forum from last year (I believe it was last year?) they apparently released some of the round 1 decisions around this time in January for individuals who submitted their apps in December.
