I saw one person post that they got offered an interview by Penn State yesterday.  Did anyone else?  Guessing that I have been excluded at this point unless they take multiple days to release them.

I received an eMail about interviews about an hour ago. No idea if they're still going, but I had also discounted myself after the stray posting last night.

@Penny_Power Thanks for the update! I guess it's today or it's never! Just gotta hang tight and see.  Did it come directly from Len Lawlor?

Yeah it seems like Penn State has trended toward sending out all requests on the same day. @Penny_Power Congrats and best of luck with your interview!

@eleatics Exactly! Did you apply to Penn State for Fall 2021 as well? I thought I was a pretty good fit for their department, so certainly a bummer.  Now mentally preparing for a full lock out, but hopefully something turns up!

Does anyone know if there is a full list anywhere of programs that require interviews (since more do not, hoping someone has gathered that info somewhere).

May be missing a few of them though for the interviews (we've had some schools do surprise interviews last year that weren't interviewing in years past). I'm going to be interviewing with DePaul as well @somethingwitty!! Here we go! I wonder how many interviewees they accepted.

Two years ago I got an interview from DePaul. They had like 11-15 interviewees.

And they have like 5 PhD spots available? Yikes. Interviews are only supposed to be like 20 minutes long ... not a lot of time to show how (un)qualified I am ?

The interview is kinda brutal. Make sure you know literally everything that you wrote in your sample/statement by heart. Then be prepared for trick questions. I can't really remember what my questions were. My friend who got an interview last year said that they asked him what he thought about the "libertarian/Communitarian/Liberalism/communism debate". His area of focus was Lacanian psychoanalysis! The only reason they asked him was because he took a class with Michael Sandel at Harvard during undergrad. So get ready for them to ask anything.
