Hi all, international student here! I see two people have already gotten interview invites from Stanford BMI, but they are both Americans. Any internationals get any response?

I haven't received any notification from them yet, but my hope for Stanford is low lol super limited seats + we are international : /

As of 12/23:

Applications out: MIT EECS, Stanford BMI, UCSF BMI, Penn GCB, Harvard SSQB, Tri-I CBM, UCLA Genetics and Genomics Track, MSSM Biomed Sci, and Emory PBEE

Interview Invites Received: UCLA (12/9), UCSF (12/12), Stanford (12/16), Penn (12/21), and Emory (12/22)

From what I've gathered, it seems like I'm probably out on Harvard, but I'm not sure w/r/t Tri-I, MSSM (invites probably come out January), and MIT (app deadline was 12/15 and it's a huge program. EECS dept calendar has "Grad Admissions Round Up" scheduled for 1/18-1/24).

It was a generic email, I haven't ever gotten an email/phone call from a specific faculty member.

Congrats!!! I didn't know UCSD already started with invitations!!! Does your application page have a new status or it appear as submitted?

@dna1 I got an invite from Tri-I CBM! I got it just half an hour ago so I think they're sending them out gradually.

I'm not sure how many of you have applied to CSHL. I emailed CSHL two days ago and yesterday they replied they're still reviewing applications and looking forward to reviewing mine. It sounds super generic, but I wouldn't lose hope yet.

Hey guys, just wondering what to do when two schools have the same interview dates. Shall I just email one of them to let the school know that I have conflicts and ask if there are other options? I don’t want them to think that I weigh one program higher than the other one.

@Brocolli_n_tomato I got an invite from Berkeley's biophysics program on Dec 21.
