Sorry, I'm not the one who got accepted. But it's weird since I haven't received any confirmation letter after I finished my application to UMass.

Actually I have an old email I got from UMass when I applied for Fall 2009 (MA program), and I found that that email has both the link to check the status and ID plus access number. So I tried with that information, and it worked.

But the problems is the status site still says "As of December 15, 2010, the status of your application is applied."

I saw the admit via postal service post on the results list. To whomever it is that posted it: when you check your application status online now through the My UNC website, has your application status changed?

Also, it's not clear which Communication department at UNC it was, whether Communication Studies, Mass Comm, or another, could you please specify?

Has anyone heard anything from UNC Communication Studies?

Oh my god, there is already an acceptance for UNC-CH for PhD. I still haven't heard anything.

Last week there were two results (rejections, though) from Mizzou - not a word to me.

I'm going crazy, really!

Why does everyone else seem to be notified but me?

Hang in there.. It's a trying time, but many schools hold back until March 1st or so. Or, in the case of UMiami, lord knows...

Hang on! I am sure it's just because you are a Fullbrighter so they have some special way/time to review your app - but I am sure you will be fine! It must mean a lot to these schools that you have won a cool award!!

Has anyone heard back from PhD in Communication Science at UW-Madison? I've seen some result posts but I think most of them are notification of Cultural Studies. Thanks.

Dont worry, I think every time we see any notification posted we all feel the same way.

@ Commtome... ad for Umass, someone did get an acceptance notification. I checked on their site, and if you click "applied" it says they notify for rejections via postal mail and will not post those results online for 21 days so you can be notified by mail first. So, I'm taking this to mean that decisions have been made and I will probably receive a rejection letter soon. Trying to prepare myself for that.

@ Gooner ... yes, wondering on status at Miami myself. I emailed an inquiry and never received a reply. Well, I also emailed Oregon and Penn State and never got replies from them either. Pretty rude. Its not that hard to hit reply and send back a form email or something at least to acknowledge they received the email. Also, you would think they prefer email to having us all call all the time, but no response to email will result in a phone call :)

anyone w/ Texas results, did the decision show on your application page online where its says the materials have been submitted...did that change to say your status?

I'm not the person who posted that, but I'm about 99% sure it's not Mass Comm. All admitted Mass Comm PhDs are funded at UNC (except maybe international students?), and that posting said "Funding to be decided." So my guess is Comm Studies.

Has anyone heard from Mass Comm PhDs at Madison, Indiana or Columbia?

I thought I had mastered the waiting game, but I couldn't resist checking in with you guys!

Yup, that's where my decision showed up. There's a new blue box between the applicant details and the materials submission sections with the decision and a link to download the decision letter from the Graduate School as a PDF. (They will not be sending it by mail, so this is actually your official letter.)

I have absolutely no clue how they will notify us about funding, though. The only communication I've received has come from the Graduate School and not the department. Anyone else receive notice/can shed any light?

I recall reading somewhere on their site that Madison will be sending out their decisions near the end of February, so we may have to wait another couple of weeks.

Since that acceptance was by postal mail, it's possible the decisions are all in the mail. The timeline would match up with decisions in past years. I've been checking my status regularly on MyUNC, and there's been no change there. Regardless, I'm on pins and needles now!

I'm in the same boat...some rejections went out for Minnesota's Comm Studies last week, and I didn't get one, but no acceptance or waitlist notification either. Just no word at all. It's such a trying experience!

Yes, the decision should appear on the status check page.

Hey Kathiza, I'm also a Fulbrighter (in Turkey). I don't know if whichever country you're in has better postal service than Turkey, but Turkey's is really terrible. So I emailed Vilma and asked if I could get my decision via email or phone whenever it's available. While to a certain extent I just want to know NOW, I'm also legitimately concerned that if I have to wait for the decision to reach me via mail, I could potentially not receive it for three or four weeks--or at all. (I don't know, maybe it's because I'm living in the hinterland, but things just disappear in this postal system. Like my supplemental materials to William and Mary that I had to send twice....) So if that's a concern for you, try sending a similar email. Who knows if it will be effective, but it can't hurt to ask!

Texas-Austin just posted their results online for Journalism. No word on funding, though...

Congrats Gooner. You rock. I am nervous. I haven't seen any change in my application status. It's still we have received your application and currently reviewing it. I'd take it as a rejection. Did you contact anyone there before applying?

we have received your application and currently reviewing it = rejection...seriously? Cuz my status is still saying that too T_T

My status said that exact same thing for a while. I would not count that as a rejection.
