Thought I'd drop in and share my Substack called Workchopped, where I write about life as an MFA student, mainly things people don't tend to talk about in detail and that I wish I knew when I started my program. It definitely varies, I know last year some schools got delayed because of the funding cuts and since that hasn’t gotten better it might still have an effect? (especially with everything else going on in the US🥲)

Though my pessimistic mind is telling me that all acceptances and waitlist are probably out, you also don't know until you know. None of us know for sure if they've sent all of them out. May as well hold onto some hope for a little bit longer

I thought for sure Pittsburgh for poetry would have came out 2/3, and now it’s 2/4 with nothing! I’m starting to wonder if no one on the spreadsheet got an interview for poetry or maybe they’re just behind for whatever reason on sending it… SocialKonstruct 1

As much as I want all the notifications to follow the same pattern, I do know that the world is an imperfect place, though, and I'm afraid there's not enough data to support that it'll be the same dates every year. Ugh! The unknown is torturous (the word of the week, in this forum).

Fiction seemed to be delayed possibly from the snow by just one day. It’s hard to say though… it seems like less in the group got a Pittsburgh interview this year than last year so the sample size could be smaller for us and therefore less notices. But damn I hope I get an interview. I think that was the school I finally bested my SOP with so it makes me nervous for others if I don’t. That and it’s in my top 5. edit: but then again… they could just not like my way of writing poetry which is pretty bold and a bit experimental and deny me for that and me easily get in somewhere else SOP aside but.. idk.
