CauchyProcess Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I feel like the maintenance isn't going to be completed exactly on time. It's either going to be earlier or later.
roboticsapplicant Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So can the site handle all of us looking up the results at the same time? Also, when are reviews posted?
PrettyLittleProtist Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So can the site handle all of us looking up the results at the same time? Also, when are reviews posted? I would like to know this as well.
DumbestSmartPerson Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So how many people would stick with the research topic in their NSF proposal if they didn't get the fellowship? Also, how many would consider shifting to something not quite exactly the same if they did get it?
roboticsapplicant Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So how many people would stick with the research topic in their NSF proposal if they didn't get the fellowship? Also, how many would consider shifting to something not quite exactly the same if they did get it? My research proposal sucked. At least, from the perspective of T-8 minutes.
stmwap Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So how many people would stick with the research topic in their NSF proposal if they didn't get the fellowship? Also, how many would consider shifting to something not quite exactly the same if they did get it? Umm. I probably won't do the project I proposed either way.
roboticsapplicant Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So, just to be clear... what is the fastest way to find out whether or not you got a fellowship? Don't log in, go straight to the awards page, search by name?
guttata Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 So can the site handle all of us looking up the results at the same time? Also, when are reviews posted? It's been sluggish in the past but has typically come up before the maintenance period ended, so who knows this year. Reviews are available immediately So how many people would stick with the research topic in their NSF proposal if they didn't get the fellowship? Also, how many would consider shifting to something not quite exactly the same if they did get it? Seeing as I plucked a project from my dissertation proposal, I'll be sticking with mine...
tschlich Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So how many people would stick with the research topic in their NSF proposal if they didn't get the fellowship? Also, how many would consider shifting to something not quite exactly the same if they did get it? My research proposal also really sucked. Completely unrealistic, at least with where my field is right now. It'd be a good project maybe 5-10 years from now. Also I didn't get into the school I proposed, and it was pretty tied to my project, so.
bathingintheneon Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So how many people would stick with the research topic in their NSF proposal if they didn't get the fellowship? Also, how many would consider shifting to something not quite exactly the same if they did get it? I might stick with the same thing. It would be feasible to do with my new graduate school advisor. But I could just as easily see myself doing something completely different, since her research is slightly different than what I wrote in my proposal. I proposed a cross-cultural study using funds from the NSF GROW program to collect data in Japan, so my proposal would really be contingent on me getting access to those funds.
roboticsapplicant Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IT'S SO CLOSEEEEEEEE
roboticsapplicant Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Watch this just be a routine maintenance thing, no awards posted. Quant_Liz_Lemon, AxyC, skyentist and 2 others 5
moonlight_dragon Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So how many people would stick with the research topic in their NSF proposal if they didn't get the fellowship? Also, how many would consider shifting to something not quite exactly the same if they did get it? I will be doing the research topic from my proposal. It's on using statistical disclosure limitation techniques on big data. Kind of a daunting task, but should be fun.
AxyC Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I don't want to look!! I keep refreshing and wincing skyentist and DNARNA 2
anthro.fish Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 This thread is going to crash when the announcements are made. Just sayin', it happened last time.
Faraday Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Well that was rather anticlimactic. anthro.fish, troopiedoop and fosgfp 3
tschlich Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 my laptop says 1:00 central now. Come on fastlane, come on.
