If they mentioned that you're getting a specific fellowship, though, it probably means that you're getting one of the better offers... so you have no need to worry! And the constant thoughts of 'where do I get the confidence even applying'. On the other hand, though there are many people who are more talented, also many less talented, so why not me. I saw this last week and then searched for other interviews in the past years. Interestingly, this was the first interview at CUNY-Linguistics posted in the results section since 2006! I believe only two doctoral students were admitted to CUNY's ling program for 2014. Actually I think starting either last year or this year, CUNY is going to start funding its PhD students. Hey! This is my third year applying to ling programs. I applied to CUNY ling, along with another friend who had an interview and said the Prof informed her only a handful of applicants were interviewed and they only accepted 2 students.
