No worries...I saw an EDLD specific page on Grad Cafe and one of the posters said that invitations went out yesterday.  I'm not sure how credible that information is though.  Last year some of the invitations went out 3 weeks before the first interview date.  Some went out as late as two weeks before the first interview date.  There is still plenty of time.

Since email is the mode of delivery you would think that someone on this thread would have heard something. I don't think they have sent out the Ed.L.D. invitations. Maybe some other programs have. I'll give it until the 12th, then I'll let go of the idea of Harvard.

Hi Everyone! I just stumbled upon this thread! I realize I'm super late joining in, but I hope the discussion is still thriving!

STATS

GRE: 164 Verbal, 164 Quant. 5.5 Analytical Writing

GPA: 3.54 (I spent most of my undergrad thinking I wanted to pursue medicine... so my transcript reflects a lot of bio, physics, chem, etc)

Experience: Private tutoring (5+ years), student teaching at an inner city school for a year, been a counselor for several afterschool/summer programs, directed a summer program

Undergrad: Ivy league equivalent liberal arts school

I'm a fresh-out-of-undergrad applicant. How do you this affects their decision?

Your stats are fantastic. Since Harvard is trying to build a diversity cohort, I guess being a fresh out of undergrad applicant will not be a major hindrance. Plus, you have some private tutoring experience.

Which program are you applying to?

I have also not heard anything, but based on previous years' threads, it's still very early. Unlike EdM admissions, they don't send out decisions all at once for interviews. The contact people on a rolling basis as they set the day up so they know how many people for what day and such. So just because someone else heard something, doesn't mean others still won't. I think giving until the 12th is accurate.

Looks like a couple of the Ph.D. applicants have posted they were accepted via phone today. *Fingers-crossed* I hope the weather had everybody go home early and they'll make more calls tomorrow.

Congratulations to those accepted!

Hi all! I'm a 2014 HGSE Special Studies grad. I, too, was initially trying to get into the EdLD program. Just an FYI, if you are really interested and don't get in, SMU in Dallas has a new EdD program looking for its 2nd cohort and there is still time to apply. I am in the first cohort and LOVE the program. The director is a HGSE Urban Supt grad and has designed the program similarly. It is cohort based and executive Ed style so you can still work. There are lots of scholarships too as its a new program. I promise it's worth it to check it out and Dallas is way cheaper to live than Boston though I do miss the walkable city. Also, much warmer!!! The other plus is the great school reform mindset in the area lots of great places to work!

Saw two people accepted! Congratulations ? I just tried checking my online application portal (some other programs indicated their rejection letter was there) and the message box was empty. Still holding on to hope!

I haven't seen a message section in the application portal. What are you referring to?

It's in the GSAS application portal - if you applied for the EdLd (as in, you just used the GSE application) it's not there.

Has anybody received any info from either of the portals? (Like everyone else, I'm sure) I've been checking far-too-constantly, and seen nothing yet.

Also, I'm sure I can assume if at least some PhD decisions have gone out and I haven't heard anything, that means no interview and thus no admission, but I'm surprised I have heard a definitive no yet - has anyone?  If not, and the interview is a necessary step for admission, why would they drag their feet on letting people know they weren't accepted?

Seems like a common practice for most schools, at least the ones I applied to -- they probably want to keep a batch of applicants available, in the very unlikely occasion that they have to pull from that pool of applicants again. But youre right -- it's heart breaking and aggravating. :(

I have some questions:

people who got admitted - was there an interview for each of you? people who were wait-listed - what about you?

and - has anyone been rejected so far?

First, wanted to say hi everyone! I've never posted, but I've been frequenting the site throughout this whole process so I feel like I've gotten to know some of y'all but selfishly haven't participated. In many ways, I've felt very supported and encouraged by the community here so thank you so much.

I got the PhD acceptance call from the dean this week and had my interview in January.
