  1. Ugh, well I guess I'll have to wake up to bad news.
  2. This thread is moving too fast but how do you all know the results are coming out tomorrow? What time?? I anticipate not getting it though. :'( And now with the new rule, I can only try 1 more time.
  3. I know it might be hard but you should try to aim for a higher quant score to be safe. I don't know about some of the other schools you named but Rutgers is very competitive for the clinical program and I have a few friends who go there. Quite a few people I know with excellent GPA, research experience, and stellar GRES (above 160 for both categories) couldn't get into the PHD and got into the PsyD program instead. GREs aren't that big of a deal but having one extra edge doesn't hurt.
  4. I can see why you think that because you clearly misinterpreted what I said. What I provided for you were just example scenarios as to why they may not respond to you, not making any kind of generalized statement about all PIs who don't respond to email. Yeah, there can be external factors(e.g. too busy) but even the busiest people can reply to emails promptly or even reply at all if they cared to.
  5. It sucks but I think email responding is really dependent on PI personality. Some are just not good with email or are just really slow. One guy took 11 days to respond to something, but I still got accepted. It's possible that they just read it, and forgot to respond. Or, worst case scenario, they just didn't care enough to want to respond. Would you want to work with the latter type of person though?
  6. I was in the same dilemma a couple of years ago and opted to be an RA instead. Many people, even faculty will recommend you to do that because you're essentially getting the same experience (maybe even better) than doing a masters but being paid for it. I have two papers, numerous conference presentations and talks from being an RA in this lab for ~2+ < 3 years.
  7. don't worry about it. that doesn't really mean anything unless you said something in your email that would warrant a response.
  8. From my experience, there's no right or wrong answer on what makes you an appealing candidate. I applied to 10, in person interviews at 5, still waiting to hear back but accepted at 3. I don't have great cumulative GPA (<3.5), okay GREs, but I have a lot of research experience, great letters, and good SoP. I think my advisor was right in saying it's really the overall package they look at. I know plenty of people who interviewed at places like Stanford, Columbia, etc etc with a 3.3 gpa.
  9. Has anyone heard from Brown post interview? I saw that some people had status updates on their application page but I have nothing yet...
  10. I don't' know if they have separate social and cognitive interview weekends but I know that UDel has already contacted and invited for social.
  11. I really hate that females are told to avoid dresses and skirts because it's "distracting". No offense but I think that's bullshit and I don't think there's anything wrong with wearing a tasteful dress or skirt.
  12. I know someone who was invited to UC Boulder Psych/Neuro. I don't know any other details besides that they sent out invites.
  13. Both campuses have social, developmental, cog, etc. The main difference I think is the clinical at NB and the differences between the neuroscience depts.
  14. @SkyLyDon't lose hope. Let me assure you that all the interviews are rolling out this week. At least for my schools. I only have 1 more school to hear from at this point.
  15. Would the two OSU social psych acceptances please PM me your PIs? Thanks!
