Has anyone heard anything yet?

If a university does not give specific length requirements, or details for the SOP, how should it be submitted? About 1-2 pages and should it be single or double spaced? I've completed a few SOP's that were both single and double spaced as stated in the requirements, but not sure how to submit this one. Please let me know!!

Nova Fall 2017 application
speechfan222 replied to SRod2015's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
@SRod2015, Oh okay. I figured it might be. It should be opening up in the next couple of days I would assume. What other universities did you apply to? -
Nova Fall 2017 application
speechfan222 replied to SRod2015's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Some of the applications use the CSDCAS portal at https://csdcas.liaisoncas.com/applicant-ux/#/login. You complete the application and upload all documents on that website and it lets you choose the university you're applying to. It may be opened there if not available on the website. I'm applying to distance education universities for speech pathology too. :o) -
Oh. Ive only spoke with Sandy. I dont know who Dr. Smith is. Hmmm. Darn...

It's Oct 1st and still no letter. I almost want to give up on TSU, but I can't yet. I don't know how many times I was told we would receive letters BY Oct 1st. And still nothing. *sighhhhh Uh oh. How did you find out it was live online? The website and program description don't say that....

Hello everyone, I've applied to a couple of universities that I feel pretty good about. I should be receiving acceptance letters within the next week to two weeks. Should I use the time I have while waiting, spend money on the application, transcript, and GRE fees, and complete a few more applications just in case I don't get accepted (for whatever reason)? Or should I wait it out to see what happens, and send in more applications if I receive the bad news (or no news)? Please let me know what you think. I want to use my time wisely, but don't want to spend money on the fees if not needed.

October 1st is tomorrow and I still don't have a letter. I hope my anticipation will make it to next week. I just can't wait any longer!!

SOP Help!
speechfan222 replied to speechfan222's topic in Statement of Purpose, Personal History, Diversity
I currently have 3 1/2 pages completed for my SOP. It needs to be between 4 and 5 pages. I've read it over several times and added a little more to it. I'm not sure what else to include or how to make it long. A few others suggested that I increase my font size and I would be okay. My undergrad major is different than the masters program I'm applying to. There aren't any specific reasons why I changed majors, so I can't really explain that. Any other suggestions or information I should add? Please help! I'm ready to get this SOP done! -
They are STILL in the process of making decisions? The last few times I spoke with her she guaranteed letters would arrive by October 1st. Ahhh. The anticipation. She is hoping for next week?

A'tude. Haha. That's a good one! Let me know how the open house goes. I was going to attend the 'online' open house sessions, but since I'm on the west coast and we're three hours behind right now, it will be too hard to do them during work house. And I've had enough of NYU. They won't stop calling me!
-
Hi ElKel87! Yes, I had the same experience as you did. I entered my information in on the NYU website expecting some more information about the program. Instead I get calls a few times a week. The first call I got, I spoke with a very rude person and she didn't want to answer my questions about the type of program. She only wanted to transfer me to a recruiter who could get me to enroll. I finished my SOP and the two required essays and just found out that the program is 'live' online. I was never originally told it was a live program and it doesn't mention anything about it in the program description. I asked about it and got no answers. Still today, they call me several times a week. Along with the rude person, inconvenient online format, and cost, I've removed NYU from my possible list of schools. Even after I did all of the requirements.

SOP Help!
speechfan222 replied to speechfan222's topic in Statement of Purpose, Personal History, Diversity
I don't really have a specific reason why I'm jumped majors. Haha. I'm interested in both areas and don't really prefer one over the other. I could think of something to mention about it though. Thanks for the help! -
SOP Help!
speechfan222 replied to speechfan222's topic in Statement of Purpose, Personal History, Diversity
It's sent as an attachment within the application. I'm attaching the SOP and my resume. Ill try my hardest to add some more to it, but it's tough. I just don't want my app to be rejected because my SOP is too short. That's good info to know. Thanks! -
I hear ya. I filled out the FAFSA and sent school information to them. Im assuming we can get accepted first and then take the next step to receive aid? I'm still waiting for acceptance letters and haven't heard anything at all from FAFSA. If you do call and get a hold of her, let me know. She usually isn't there when I call. I leave a voicemail and she never calls back. So tired of waiting...

SOP Help!
speechfan222 replied to speechfan222's topic in Statement of Purpose, Personal History, Diversity
I'm applying to a different masters program than I completed my bachelors degree in. I took a course relating to the masters program, but I don't have any other courses or clinical experience to mention or relate to. I have work experience, but it's not related to either degree. I normally write academic papers in Times New Roman 12 pt font. Should I increase the whole paper to 14 pt font then? I have a title page in 14 pt and it looks too big, so I use 12 for the actual paper. I'll read it over again and see what other information I may be able to add. Thanks! -
3 days away and still nothing. I'm trying to stay positive, but also getting so frustrated! Why are we getting letters at the last minute?
-
I just completed my statement of purpose for one of my applications. I answered all of the required questions and elaborated on them as much as I could. The SOP must be between 4-5 pages and I'm only at 3 pages. What other information should I include? I need suggestions, opinions, comments! I'm ready to submit my application, but I need to make my SOP a page longer. Help!

Unless we receive our letters in the mail on Saturday. We might! I'm trying to think positive and be optimistic. I'm so tired of waiting. Do you know if we're going to receive letters even if we're denied acceptance?
-
Nothing yet. Been checking my mailbox with such anticipation only to find bills. No letters. Sandy called me last Thursday, but I haven't heard anything since then. I know. October 1st is in four days. I better get a letter by then. Sandy told me several times by October 1st. *sighhhhh
