I think I would just take a Biology class just to be sure. I would think it depend on grad school if a life science would count? I know in my curriculum we must take 2 biologies for non-major courses.
I am also a non traditional student so I kinda understand. I can only apply to one program (well I could apply to a second one with a hr commute each way). I try to visit my professors in their office hours after tests. Also, I'll pop in and say hello from time to time. I also am pretty vocal in class discussions. I just want them to know my face when they see my name.
You have great stats! Your GRE scores and experience make you a competitive applicant I think. I know it's easier said than done, but don't be so hard on yourself. Try to stay positive. I'm a Junior right now and will be in your shoes this time next year!
My best advice is just worry about your grades as soon as you start college. I've seen so many people say they wish they would have tried their first couple of semesters. Nothing haunts you like a bad GPA lol. I didn't even know these programs existed.
Check out University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am currently there getting my bachelors and I love it here. Our masters program is great too. I plan on applying here next cycle.
When I first joined, I read like all the posts on this forum. There is a lot of great information in all those pages lol. I am graduating Dec 17 or May 18 and I'm nervous too. What is your GPA? GRE score? What part of the US are you located?
Thank y'all so much. I have about a year to take the GRE and get the score I need. My cumulative GPA is 3.89 and 4.0 in my major. I'm just a horrible standardized test taker. I would hate not to hit that "300" mark that I've been told you need to get in at my school. I downloaded that Magoosh vocabulary app, so I plan on starting to use it soon. Also, after I finish with my summer semester tomorrow, I'm going to try to take a practice test.
Jolie717,
I am actually a non traditional student as well. I graduated high school in 2006! I am set to graduate In May 2018 BUT I could easily graduate Dec 2017 if I take 1-2 classes next summer. I was planning on taking the GRE next summer, but I'm not a good standardized test taker. I'm worried I'll run out of time. I'm also getting married in April of next year. When do you suggest I take it? My advisor isn't the best, so he doesn't always give me good advice. I'm worried because I cannot move from where I live. I have one chance at grad school. My GPA is very high (3.89) and I'm over worried
Hello!
I am a Jr CODI major and getting ready to start "studying" for GRE. I am planning on taking it in December, and wanted some suggestions on where to start. I want to try to take the GRE before I get magoosh/another prep class. What did you do to get ready? Do I just buy a GRE book and start from page 1?
TIA!
