  1. I have already been in the waitlist for the quantitative psychology program at the University of Notre Dame for 2 months! Still no updates Almost lose my hope...
  2. That is a really good point! Thank you so much for your suggestions!
  3. Thanks so much for your suggestions! I will contact current students to get more details about the program!
  4. Please give me some suggestions: I got an offer from program A. The location is amazing and my POI is super nice. However, the fundings are not guaranteed. I only get 9-month tuition wavier and 6-month RA in my first year (summer quarter status could be leave-out automatically). In the future, it will depend on my performance to decide. Also, the program is quite small. It only has 3 faculty members and sends 1-2 offers each year. Here is an issue: I need to apply for the fellowship (4-year funding) and the deadline will be March 8. But I am on the waitlist in program B. Program B is a big program and the funding package is quite great! The only shortcomings are the location and the university's reputation. Should I wait for the second program's news or just accept the first one's offer and apply for the fellowship?
  5. Hi there, I got a PhD offer this year and really hope to receive some suggestions. The supervisor has a big name in my field and she is super nice. We have a great research fit! Also, the location is quite good. However, the program is pretty small (only 3 faculty members and they only send 1-2 PhD offers each year) and the fundings can't be guaranteed. My supervisor told me I will get 6-month RA support and 9-month tuition waiver in the first year. It will depend on my progress to get different types of fundings in the next 4 years. Does anyone have some opinions? Thx a lot!!

  7. We just had an online interview, so I have no ideas about the number of applications for this year. I wrote three potential supervisors in my SOP and the committee told me to decide one after being admitted. But I am unsure whether I would have this opportunity in the future...
  8. I got interviews from UND and UW( this program is in the department of educational psychology). I just know I am in the ND's waiting list, so sad Did anyone apply for the same programs and have any updates?
  9. Hi, spunky! I notice you are a PhD student of MERM program. Could you please answer my question about the offer choice?  Thanks a lot!

  10. Hi, everyone! I got two offers from MERM program at UBC and MEC program at Alberta. But I am struggling with the decision. FYI, both programs I applied for require the completion of a thesis. UBC is one of the top universities in Canada and Vancouver is a comfortable city to live in. But I do not have any fundings. It is expensive to live in Vancouver. Also, my supervisor told me the chance becoming a RA is low for a master student considering we have many courses and lack of skills. In fact, I plan to pursue a doctorate degree after finishing my graduate study and hope to gain more experience and have some publications if possible. So I am worried about whether the program is helpful for my future application for PhD. Can I have many research opportunities at UBC? Besides, the supervisor's research interests at Alberta are more appealing to me than UBC's. And the supervisor promised me to become his RA and work in his projects. So the funding and research opportunities are guaranteed. But I am not sure whether the program is high of quality. Could some guys answer my questions? I compare both two programs and find course credits are the same. So why could students at Alberta have time working research projects but students at UBC could not? I sincerely hope people who know about these two programs could give me some advice. Thanks a lot!!
  11. I am an international applicant and I haven't heard back from any school yet.
