  1. you are an inspiration to us all lol. really. love that you and @jay’s brain are here to remind us that there’s light at the end of the very long tunnel haha
  2. does anyone know how schools issue rejections? if your app is still being considered by a university and other applicants have heard back and been rejected, what are your chances? like, how many applications do universities keep on standby while they conduct first-round interviews?
  3. also not sure if this hurts or helps lol (hopefully the latter) - but last year in this thread, someone got an interview at York in early March and then was accepted shortly thereafter so, anything can happen i guess. but definitely email the grad secretary at some point (i.e. after the open house for ex) b/c you could be waiting a long time otherwise. last year, Ryerson emailed me a rejection in May :|
  4. emailing the grad secretary is not the worst thing in the world but i would hold out until the end of the wk if possible though just b/c it's more likely a decision will have been made. in the same boat though, i feel ya. super crappy feeling.
  5. Apparently the York clinical open house is Feb 16th but as far as I know, no one in this thread has heard from York adult clinical
  6. Anyone receive a rejection from Waterloo? I haven’t heard anything from them yet /anything from York Adult or McMaster?
  7. out of curiosity, why do POIs get back to prospective students at different times? how does that work? does anyone know what happens to applications once it's established that they meet the minimum requirements?
  8. would the poster from mcmaster mind messaging me their POI if comfortable?
  9. does anyone have any insight into how many applicants being interviewed/accepted have publications?
  10. I'm applying to Clinical Psychology and many of the schools I'm applying to only require 2 references. I have an existing Master's in another field and my first reference will be my Master's supervisor. For my second reference - Is it better to ask an assistant prof who I have a very close relationship w/ for a reference? Or is it better to ask a full professor who is the head of a department and served as one of my thesis advisors?
  11. how long do you think it's appropriate to wait before contacting your POI abt you app status? i thanked mine via email after meeting her at visiting/interview day but she didn't reply and now i'm just waiting to hear back.
  12. this is for clinical psych at a Canadian university... waiting is the worst
  13. Sorry to hear that. But you're so close! Do most schools let you know that you are waitlisted after interview/visiting day?
  14. that's such good advice - thank you! here i was thinking how awkward it was going to be individually emailing each person who interviewed me (i was also in a group interview) but this makes so much more sense.
  15. Cool thank you guys! Good luck and hope you both hear back soon
  16. What is the consensus on contacting your poi after an interview? Is it desperate or appreciative to thank someone for their time? Bc even if you really are thankful to have met them, I think the underlying msg is always like... When am I going to hear abt a decision?
  17. maybe try emailing the grad secretary? i've done that a few times, ha
