I just got back from my first interview and it was SO much less scary than I anticipated. No one asked me any of the questions that I had prepped for. They pretty much said "if you are here, we already know everything we need to know about you-we just want to see if it feels like a good fit" so if you are anxiously preparing for your interviews, take a breath and relax

still waiting on University of Denver...I know they typically send out invites late, but man this is hard! Anyone have any updates?

I heard from Utah about a week ago. Interview date is Feb 10

My first interview is in 2 days, getting pretty nervous... I thought I'd share a list of questions that my current PI gave me to prepare with. I hope this is helpful! -Why do you want to work with me? (research fit, ideas on mentorship) -What are the questions you want to pursue in grad school? (you don’t have to KNOW your thesis plans but you should have a good sense of what you are excited about). SPEND THE MOST TIME HERE ON THIS QUESTION -Tell me about your clinical experience (anything with humans, but prioritize the high-risk stuff) -Tell me about your stats background (mention data comfort, programs, analysis experience, aspirations) -What do you do for fun? (making sure you have a life) -What do you think your biggest challenge will be in our program? -What do you think about our city? (can you handle snow, small towns, cost of living, etc)

I did call and left a voicemail. I will let you know if I hear anything! They did say in that status update email that they'd let people know if they aren't invited. I haven't heard from anyone who was rejected yet, either. I'm just not sure what to do because I would hate to accept this other interview and then back out of it if I got an interview at Denver. It does look like last year they sent out invitations pretty late.

Sorry, I know this is annoying but me too please! I have heard back and gotten interviews everywhere I applied except Denver, which was one of my top choices. Another school offered me an interview during Denver's interview weekend and I'm not sure if I should accept...I am trying to decide if I should call the office and check on the status, or just wait. Do you guys think it would be super annoying if I called the office?

Can we talk more about prepping for interviews? Or should that be in a different thread?

My current PI (a clinical psych professor at another university) said that usually each professor gets a stack of applications from everyone who applied to them and then they have the committee approve their top choices.

I got an interview invite for University of Oregon on December 8th. The interview date is January 20th.
