I have my only interview on Saturday and I'm so stressed/nervous/anxious about it I have no idea how I'm going to focus on anything else this week. AHHHHH

When I finally get rejection notices, I plan to post something super funny to lighten things up and hopefully land a spot on this thread. There's enough anger in this world already, don't need more here.

First, to all the haters out there. 4 offer poster has the right to consider their options and choose the program they like the most and they have until April 15th to do so. It is NOT greedy, but yeah, it would be nice if they could decide sooner rather than later. Also @4 offers, listen you entitled sh**, yes, you worked hard and you probably deserve those acceptances but that does not mean that others who did not get the same results did not work as hard or even harder than you did. Be thankful for what you have because grad admissions are quite random. So f you too.

Probably won't reflect poorly but it's definitely a missed opportunity if you decline. You can reschedule a dinner with your boyfriend; you can't reschedule the dinner at the professor's house.

At least this person is handling their rejection with a sense of humor. Too real.

Personally, I think it's totally  fine to send a nice email just asking if it's possible to check on the status of your application, or give the office a call and ask if they are aware of when invites will be extended. Good luck!

She's probably hasn't been in the office much if it's still their winter break. It's also grant writing season for a lot of professors. If she wasn't interested, she wouldn't have responded that positively to your first email...your best bet at this point is probably just to wait it out.

I wouldn't worry just yet if its only been a day or two. Professors do get busy or the email may have gotten buried in other emails. I'd probably wait a week and if there's no response then email again. After that I'd probably stop emailing so as to not be harassing at that point. If she responded the first time though it sounds like she's interested! I wouldn't think saying your busy one day would hold you back much as most people understand that people get busy every now and again. I think it's probably more likely that she just got busy herself.

Hey! So I emailed them asking if they have sent out all of their invites; they said yes. The PI would have contacted you much earlier. 

I spoke to someone on the forum who mentioned they received an interview invite from dartmouth some time back. I applied there too and haven't heard anything. But seeing that it's been some time since the interview invite was sent, I think it's best we assume it's done and move on after a few more drinks

This isn't a rejection but this made me laugh (even though I had no idea what it means)

Sorry to be nosy/annoying but the person who was emailed a rejection from Dartmouth PBS (psychology and brain science) did they email you or did you reach out to them? I haven't gotten an interview email or a rejection email...I feel weird being in limbo

Don't lose hope yet! In the email I got, it sounds like they haven't worked out all of the details about the interview weekend yet (no information about travel subsidy or hotel address etc.), so maybe they'd send another batch of invitations after everything has been set up...?

I just wanted to share this in case some of you weren't aware. There is a growing movement, #GRExit, where biology/biomedical programs are no longer requiring the GRE for admission! To me this is fantastic, standardized tests are biased and useless. Not to mention expensive and anxiety provoking. There is a Google docs spreadsheet that is currently maintained by Joshua Hall, PhD who is the director of the school of medicine at UNC.
