  1. Thank you. I applied anyways because I am "borderline" in terms of the eligibility criteria but I am sure I won't get the scholarship. At least I tried.
  2. I would say, give it a try even if you are unsure. You never know.
  3. I guess it depends. In social work, we've been told many times that students who have no or limited knowledge of French would really struggle to find a field placement and a job in Montreal/Quebec. Maybe it's just the nature of the work (helping relationship). I would say, if you are willing to learn French, do it, you've got nothing to lose, but I would say that learning French would definetly be a plus if you want to remain in Quebec.
  4. That's my hometown. If you guys have any questions, just let me know.
  5. I have so much stuff to do by the end of this semester and now, I am not being productive tonight. And I feel guilty for it.
  6. Thanks everyone for your advice. For the 6 basic questions, what are they usually? I have no access to the grading rubric at this moment. Will I come off as weird if I ask it to the organizers?
  7. Anyone else feels a bit anxious about the end of their studying career? I guess that's (one) of the many reasons why I decided to go into grad school. Having no boyfriend and no children, I just wouldn't see myself working full-time at this moment (even if I could have started working full-time with a bachelor's degree).
  8. Hello, that is not what I am saying. I wouldn't lower my standards just to be with "anybody" at any price. That's just not me. I prefer being alone than being with someone that does not fufill me.
  9. Everytime I ask an interesting man out, turns out they are married with children
  10. I've tried so many dating websites considering that for some reason (apparently because I am ambitious and that intimidates men) I never get any invites for dates from people I actually see regularly. I've been many dates to the point where I've stopped counting them. And none of them worked out in the end. I'm so discouraged. tbh, I cry often when I think of all the horrible failures I've experienced in my dating/romantic life.
  11. I feel exactly the same. I am really busy and don't really have time and space for a bf although I'd want to. And yes, all of my friends are getting engaged/married having babies or are in long-term relationships...
  12. I don't know how you guys do it to attend post-secondary schools in the US. I would never be able to afford those amounts, ever.
  13. When will we know if we got the scholarship or not? (I'm sure I won't get it by the way.)
  14. I was accepted at all three universities I've applied to! I will be attending McGill next fall.
  15. Has anyone tried those to work on their master's thesis? Is it worth it? I am considering it because I live with 5 other people, libraries are often crowded and cafes too noisy...
  16. I was accepted to all the universities I've applied to! Will be attending McGill.
  17. Accepted at McGill too!!!
  18. University of Montreal and University of Quebec in Montreal. Thank you!
  19. Got accepted in the MSW at two universities. I am just waiting for the last one for an answer.
  20. Yeah, I know it's funny, but I meant that my studies are entirely funded by me or the scholarships I am able to get ever year.
  21. Since I was a teenager, I've been told that girls like me, who are ambitious will struggle a lot more to find a man. I am now 24 and have never been in a relationship. It's depressing at times.
  22. My CGPA was 3.6 at the time I applied. I have 77% average for my first year of full-time of study and a 90% average for my second year. Lots of research and community experience though. But I still feel like I have zero chance of getting this award. My grades are too "borderline"
