    I saw there was a thread last year, so I figured I'd ask for this application round. Anyone out there apply for a medical illustration program? I'm currently playing the waiting game with RIT. And...I may have sort of chickened out of applying to any of the other schools. Good news is I got accepted into my backup plan: an MPS in Information Visualization at MICA. Not medical illustration, but should certainly aid me in getting my foot in the door for scientific communication. With that being said, how'd your interviews go? Have you heard back from the different schools? I'd love to know!

    Thank you! And funny, I just got back to East Coast US after spending two weeks in Asia. My entire circadian rhythm is screwy right now.

    So...I'm excited. Still haven't heard from RIT, but I DID get an acceptance letter from my backup school today: MICA! Not an MFA, but the MPS in Information Visualization program. It's clearly different from a medical illustration program, but it still allows me to get my foot into the world of scientific communication (the visual side to be exact). It's also a hecka lot cheaper. Still crossing fingers for RIT though. Side note: my undergraduate degree was a Bachelor of Science. Majored in biology, minored in Leadership and Global Understanding. And though science will always captivate my interest, my real passion's always been in art. I figured scientific communication would be a good way to blend the two.

    It's a shame that it looks like things won't work out as far as the US goes. Best of luck on wherever life DOES bring you, though!

    I'll be sending good vibes along your way. Also, I have news! I got an acceptance letter today from my backup school. Good to know I'm not a total failure lol.

    My plan is if I don't get accepted, I'll try to apply to this internship where you draw birds for a couple of months. I probably won't get accepted there either, lol.

    I'm having the worst time trying to concentrate at work right now. I'm literally shaking at my desk and yet I know it could still be a good week or two before I find out anything.

    Out of curiosity, has anyone here applied to the MFA Medical Illustration program at RIT? I'm currently awaiting their decision and I'm a gigantic bundle of nerves.
