I can chill! I got my first acceptance!

It’s now a Friday and finally February. Anyone else anticipating a flurry of posts to the results board?

I just got accepted at Berkeley. I cannot believe it. I thought for sure I had been rejected after others were notified of their acceptance earlier this week. 

We have severe weather where I’m located so literally every organization I’m affiliated with sent out an email being like “lol meeting canceled this week” and I was like STOP EMAILING ME

Phone notifications scare me the most. It could happen at any time... so every phone call I get I'm like hello??? Harvard, is that you? Like why can't we all just get emailed at the same time?

The first UT Austin acceptance is on the board. Does anyone here claim it?

Hi all, I'm an international student, so not so familiar with funding in the USA, but was lucky enough to be contacted by my POI today from Berkeley saying that I'd be accepted. Do you think people contacted today would have a good chance of funding, or should we hold off getting too excited/ drunk? Are they likely to offer places to people without funding?

My bet is that if they call and you don't pick up, they'll send your offer via email next. Don't stress too much! I can't imagine that not having your phone on hand isn't going to keep your application from consideration.

Am I the only one that feels this way?
I'd say 75% of the time I am feeling nervous but overall positive, and then out of no where, no idea why, but I start to just feel so overwhelmed and just want to cry.

These fu**ers referred me to the MAPH program. Lol, you think I want to suckle at the teat of UChicago so badly that I'd get another Masters and pay 50k for it? I would have preferred a flat-out rejection. Get bent, scu*bags

I wouldn't assume you'll be rejected from UCLA just quite yet. According to the post on the first page of this thread with last year's notification dates, it looks like people heard back on Jan. 12, 20, 26, 30, and Feb. 13. So UCLA definitely has a history of spreading them out, and a graduate student I talked to who's on the admissions committee last week stated many applications had yet to be reviewed. Don't lose hope!

When I was obsessively checking current graduate students' undergraduate institutions (to see where mine might fit in), I saw quite a few people that went to the same school for undergrad and grad. 

Currently in a PhD program. I, along with 2 of my classmates, all went to the same institution for undergrad.

HI ALL! huge congrats to all those who have successfully gotten in somewhere! Having a terrible time over here regretting not re-taking the GRE  even though everywhere except UCLA that I applied hasn't released acceptances yet. Was hoping we'd hear from Berkeley yesterday but I guess not!

I'm at the point where every new email that comes in that is not from a school gets unsubscribed from so that I'm limiting my chances of disappointment.
