Ack. That moment when your recommender says he can't find the email to submit your letter to your top choice school....

I am also only applying to 6 schools! I felt 6 was enough and I couldn't find that many more in my interest area that were in the geographic location I wanted.

Yeah, I always heard that having overlap with many people is a good thing.

I have three out of my six apps submitted now.

I submitted another app today... hopefully two more tomorrow.

But we can't help you if you don't tell us the sort of thing you're trying to get away from. You have to at least say something general so we can tailor our advice, otherwise we might recommend a program with the same problem.

I'm applying for developmental! I submitted to Duke, I have an application for Temple that's more or less done. I just have to put in some final edits. I have rough drafts of statements for UPenn and Cornell. I'm also applying to a PhD program in Education at Delaware and a PhD in Linguistics at Maryland, but those are due later so I'm going to focus on my four developmental apps first.

I was worried I wasn't applying to enough schools, but I want to stay on the East Coast and these 6 had faculty with good interest matches.

I've submitted one and am sitting on three more that are "done" but just need some final edits. I have two more with later deadlines to work on and I also need to gently remind my recommenders to submit their recs..

I presented about my honors thesis progress to the department and it went really well.

I'm approaching end of the semester burnout but I still have so much to do...

A lot of times programs won't let you resubmit a new SoP unfortunately...

My advisor has been really busy and hasn't had time to go over my statements of purpose. ?

I'm pretty sure lots of professors use a template for recommendations. They're busy people.

Hello. If anyone would like an update for me, I have finished two applications and the statement of purpose for a third school. I current have my SoP for my last school with a December 1st deadline pulled up on my computer, but my brain is too tired to work on it.

Hi @KeyDoc. While I agree with you that OP's post is confusing and needs clarification, as someone with South Asian ancestry I object to your generalization about South Asian people. Yes, OP obviously needs some etiquette guidance and editing help, but a cultural stereotype is not the "bitter medicine" he needs shoved down his throat.

20 schools??? I have decided that I will only be applying to 6 or 7. I wish you luck. As for my social life, it's been all right. I'm in my last year of undergrad and applications honestly just feel like another assignment to juggle. I have been working through the weekends a lot recently though.
