  1. I agree with you about the irrelevant posts: "Has anyone heard from Schools a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l and m? Thanks!" ***EYE ROLL*** I'm so anxious and bored I'm checking the invites page + the clinical applicants page + the general psych applicants page (a disaster/black hole honestly) and occasionally the interview tips/other things that pop up. I don't know if this s$@t will solve the mess/monster that has been created... But hey, another thread to waste our time on, right LMAO? (Have you seen the amount of applicant-specific threads now? I can't)
  2. I never posted initials publicly lol. I think as a kind gesture, I (and hopefully others) will check this thread if I ever receive future invites. I personally know the agonizing/brutal pain of seeing invites pour through the damn TCG results page for a school you applied to and having your inbox dry as hell. I think it'll leave the invites page less clutter-y, but that's my opinion. People can just post their details on the other thread, and others can PM them directly about POIs if they are curious. This one may be more relevant to the stuff popping up on TGC results page.
  3. +1 to indeed.com I would also recommend LinkedIn.com!
  4. THIS. I had someone apparently get upset(?!) I didn't answer them immediately about the Memphis invite yesterday evening after several hrs of her message. I think the person blocked me or something, I went to answer this morning from my laptop (since my phone was acting up) and the msg. thread wasn't there anymore ?
  5. Can peeps please PRIVATELY MESSAGE individuals on here with “requests for POIs”? No need to quote people’s invites.... to ask them..... to message you...... ?
  6. I don’t see anything wrong with a grey suit. This is the exact look I’m going for as well, I don’t see myself wearing all-black like I am planning to work at a financial institution or something ?
  7. They need to make up their minds and send out rejections to people not being considered already, so we can make travel plans (!). The mystery surrounding this program is ridiculous LOL
  8. This thread is incredible and I’m only 2 pages in. LMFAO.
  9. “This is Us.” Hulu has it I believe. Prepare to cry your eyes out. Currently, I don’t know what to do with myself, since the season resumes in a couple of weeks, but hands down my favorite at the moment. Also if you’re into psych-thrillers, I recently watched “Birdbox” (On Netflix). It was lovely. And Tom (male protagonist) is also eye-candy lovely lol
  10. ? It hurts. It SUCKS. I’ve been there before! Let me just say rejections do not define you whatsoever. They also are NOT the end of your journey in Psychology. This process is very competitive, quite frankly ridiculous, and it took everything in me to “build myself up,” become a better applicant, and apply again, with the fear of not knowing whether I’d ever be “good enough” to ever receive an invite. This too shall pass!
  11. No prob, just trying to help. Also if you add the school's name after "clinical psychology" in the search box, you'll be able to see the invites for that specific school (Ex: "Clinical psychology florida state university")
  12. School: University of MemphisType: Clinical Psychology PhD Type of invite: E-mail from POIInterview date(s): Feb. 1st, 2019
  13. Use the results page to extract this information, invites have been extended to some of the programs you listed. Here's the link
  14. I don't know what stage you are in your education (current undergraduate? recent graduate? post-bac?) but this PDF should be able to help you narrow down your interests after reading the differences in career trajectories/degrees.
  15. Allow me to hijack this thread to talk about clothes. What's everyone wearing? Shoes? Bringing purses/bags to interviews? I just spent a ridiculous amount of money on a blazer/pant combination + blouse... after searching through websites for hours. It's gray (couldn't find a black one I loved!), it's plain/boring, but I def. did not want to draw attention and wear one of my colorful blazers/pant combos. btw- I'm also trying to get my money's worth and plan to wear this damn outfit for every. single. interview lol
  16. School: George Mason University Type: Clinical Psychology PhD Date of invite: 12/29/2018 Type of invite: E-mail from DCT Interview date(s): Jan 25th OR 26th AHHHHHHHHHHHH I'M SO EXCITED iuh384787roreisugg3ytg7458wy was NOT expecting another invite before the New Years ? (PM for POI if you want more details)
  17. I’ve been trying to “politely” speak on this... It’s annoying as f$@k!
  18. To those using the GC results page to ask “Who’s your POI” “Please post your POI”: Stop already!!!!!!! Sincerely, all of us ?
  19. Check your messages One PI appears to have sent multiple invites to multiple people, either she’s enthusiastic or she has openings for multiple students lol. The other PIs: radio silence.
  20. Did you leave your GPA out from your CV because it’s low? I always was under the impression GPAs needed to be listed. When faculty/committees are reviewing your materials, some may find it burdensome (or even strange) that it’s not readily listed/available (compared to other CVs)?
  21. **Googling all the places I’d live in, if I was to be accepted into my top choices** LOL The holiday spirit isn’t (and hasn’t been) here since Dec. 2016’s elections for me. It is soooo difficult to stay distracted/practice self-care until January 7th! ?
  22. I need closure from UWyoming and Case Western Reserve. For those of you magnificent folks who received invites for CWR, can you PM me POIs? And has anyone heard from Wyoming!? ****dying inside****
  23. I would strongly suggest trying indeed.com. Look for the keywords "psychology research" or "child psychology research" or anything you think might populate opportunities, and don't limit your search to locations. This is how I found my current position in a highly competitive academic/clinical research based center, coordinating a RCT with a prominent PI in my field who's an expert with the clinical population I'd like to work with/my POIs have experience working with.
