Yeah, an unofficial wailtlist. And Idk. I'm guessing that because a great number of ppl might be notified it would imply they have a greater a chance of getting in. Or they simply don't want to do the extra step of sending out those notifications, making it easier on their end. 
But yeah, it would be nice for your app to be updated along the way. I get more information when I order a pizza from dominos for $11.99 than I do with a $75 grad app.

Landed two rejections from sought after programs today. A bit heartbroken but trying to soldier on. 

Yeah. Everyone’s like “there’s still a chance!” For the schools that haven’t notified me, but I’m also realistic that most of those schools have already accepted who they’re going to accept. I’m waiting on 6. Only one of which hasn’t released ANY decisions yet.

I'm with you, friend. Applied to 7 schools, rejected from 3, feeling like I'm expecting 4 more rejections this week or next. See y'all next year!

Currently flopping around aimlessly because I still haven't heard from Columbia. GAH.

I'm crying. I'm a first gen, dirt poor student who worked 30 hours a week throughout undergrad. homelessness, family deaths, the struggle was real. this means the world to me.

Thank you to the above people who have congratulated me and wished me well...it truly means a lot to me. I'm literally dying and can't believe this is really happening. I appreciate the fact that my POI/committee chair took a moment to tell me that no, this is not a mistake, because I definitely was and still am feeling like this is a huge accident. I sounded like a bumbling idiot on the phone and just cried and kept saying THANK YOU SO MUCH IM SO SORRY FOR CRYING. Luckily he was really cool about it and understood. Pretty personal, but I am actually the first person in my family to even complete high school so this is literally the most incredible and unexpected honor I could ever have happen to me and my family.

Honestly? High key considering living as a guest in a monastery for a year. Nothing like some peace and quiet to recover from it all...

I still haven't heard anything from Columbia. Assuming bad news there. 
I've only heard final decisions from 4/14 schools. I just want the waiting to be over! 

Got a phone call this morning when I was cooking... it says, "this is from the Department of So...(omg I was so excited...)...cial Security... ok...fine...

okay some ppl have been accepted and some have been rejected and I'm feeling like maybe my application got lost on the interweb or something...

Phone notifications scare me the most. It could happen at any time... so every phone call I get I'm like hello??? Harvard, is that you? Like why can't we all just get emailed at the same time?

Columbia acceptance got me hoping for a phone call from NYC.
