  1. All US graduate schools (I believe all, but at minimum the vast majority) subscribe to a National Acceptance Deadline of April 15th. So they shouldn’t be requiring you to make any decisions or payments before that date. If they are, you might want to check them on it.
  2. Oh! You’ll also want to pay attention to if the program’s acceptance is conditional upon securing a GAship. Some programs require you to get an assistantship before you start the program and some don’t. So if one school will rescind your acceptance of you don’t get a GAship, and one would still accept you and you can find a GAship once you start in the fall, you’ll want to go to the one that requires a GAship right off the bat.
  3. This is a VERY common situation, so don’t be too hung up it. You will need to decide which program you would prefer and go to that interview day. For the other one, simply email them to let them know that you would love to be there but have a conflict preventing you from attending and request a virtual interview like Skype or Zoom. This happens all the time, they’re used to it. You would think the big Higher Ed schools would coordinate better but, alas.
  4. There’s a post on the results page about a rejection from Syracuse’s Cultural Foundations of Education program, stating “Apparently all the decisions were made on Wednesday.” There aren’t any other results posted from ‘Cuse. Anybody know what this means or anything on Syracuse’s CFE program?
  5. I haven’t heard anything yet. Judging from last year’s results, we should hear sometime in the next 2 weeks. The anticipation is killinggggg me!
  6. Hi Sissi! Which program did you apply to?
  7. HGSE Interviewees: Congratulations!! Could you share which program you’re interviewing with?
  8. February feel like FOREVER! But, alas. My POIs are JH, MC, SH, and WA. I would love to know who yours are!
  9. To the two previous posters: I applied to UCLA too! HEOC PhD. Good luck!! Maybe I’ll see ya in CA!
  10. The more December admissions updates get posted to the results page the thinner the already thin veil over my panic becomes. Winter is here.
  11. I hadn’t seen that one, thank you for sharing!!
  12. I submitted a condensed version of the Chapter 5 Discussion portion of my Masters thesis as my writing sample, if that’s helpful!
