I was not interviewed, but did receive notification that I am waitlisted.

That would be me! I had no idea they did interviews, but I'm excited! Received the email about 20 minutes ago, so my guess is they may be rolling more interview offers out tonight/in the coming days.

Can anyone confirm the Brandeis interview? 

Agreed lol I'm trying not to give up hope for IU since we've only seen one acceptance so far, but nearing the end of the work day with no more notifications is killing me. This process really hurts.

I would really like for programs to just start putting me out of my misery ASAP.

Do most departments pay for your recruitment visits after having been admitted? Having a hard time finding transparent info about this on department pages.

apparently this was the week for all interviews, according to POI. I had mine this morning, it was very quick: only 20 min bc they said they were interviewing a big batch today. Mostly qs about current work and why a joint program + time for questions on my end. 

Oh this is so interesting. I also applied to Brown (population track) but I didn't get an interview invite so I guess it is a soft rejection. Good tips for preparing to other interviews. Thanks!

This happened today...
At 4:24 PM EST, apparently I got an email to check my status. At 4:34, I randomly woke up (currently in Japan for Universal Studios) and checked my email because I realized it was afternoon in the US.
I woke up my husband next to me in a shaky voice saying, “Honey, I got into Harvard...”
This had been my dream for so long and I really didn’t think I’d get in! I had only applied to one other school, so I was quite scared. I am so thankful to God. I am so happy, but it still feels so surreal!
My husband just hugged me for a long time and I had tears in my eyes. Then we went to Universal and had a great day.

I had just woken up from a nap and then decided to check my email. That's when I found my acceptance letter

Rejected from Berkeley Epi but accepted to Columbia Epi!

Columbia just sent out their decision...

That's rough.  As for the application fees, we all feel that pain, even those of us from the country.  That said, hopefully you see a change of power soon in Venezuela and, hopefully, in the US in 2020.  Once both countries gets their toxic leaders out of office, I think things will be looking much better for you and all of us.  Best of luck to us all over the next two years.
