Just received my rejection from OISE SCCP today. A little surprised since I did have an interview, but I'm not too upset because I'm not sure if I was ready for grad school yet anyways or if it's definitely the right path for me. Best of luck to all of you who are still waiting for decisions!!

I don't think it would hurt just sending them a quick update about new developments, assuming the first author paper has been accepted or at least submitted. It could potentially tip the scale in your favour if there is another candidate that is on an equal footing as you

For those wondering about UBCO, my supervisor told me the admissions committee is meeting tomorrow morning, so you can probably expect decisions pretty soon.

Also got my Manitoba rejection this morning. Jeez. But still waiting to hear from lots of programs--so keeping the hope alive. Appreciate the sentiment "a display name"  because this is round two for me. Good game plan in place to go for round 3 if I need it, but lets hope not. Congratulations on your spot at Windsor!! SO AWESOME!

Just received my rejection from Manitoba after interviewing in February. Congrats to everyone who got in! Looking forward to attending Windsor in the fall

Side note- it’s taken me three tries to get in! If it doesn’t work out for you the first time and you know that this is the field for you, please don’t give up!

highly considering writing a strongly worded letter to CPA because this application process is not standardized when it should be for such a competitive program and is so ridiculous

Yes, the compulsive e-mail checking is still going on for me as well. Although I haven't received anything in weeks lol.
I've gotten around to making beach-vacation plans for this summer, got plane tickets and hotels and everything for a large group of friends. I needed to plan something I guess

Hi all. Emailed UVic for an update today. Just wanted to let you know that the grad secretary let me know that PIs only rank their first one and two applicants generally. From there, no one is rejected until April when the whole process is complete and offers accepted. It helped me to manage my expectations so thought I would share. If you haven't heard, it doesn't necessarily mean you are waitlisted, sorry.  Grad secretary seemed nice though and willing to provide info if you want to touch base with the program directly.  Good luck to everyone still!

Got my official offer via email today for UCalgary's MSc in School & Applied Child Psych!  The deadline to accept is March 7, so I do hope I hear from UAlberta and OISE before then, so I can make an informed final decision.

I completely agree. It's really tough, especially when my anxiety is rooted from the "unknown" aspects of life.
I coped by applying for research positions at local hospitals and sending out resumes to other jobs. This way, I know I will have a plan A and plan B. I can always apply for jobs and turn them down if I get accepted to a clinical program...but I can guarantee I will get more anxious if I don't get accepted anywhere AND I dont have a job in place for the interim.
Thus, my suggestion would be to make an alternate plan that is appropriately manageable if you do or do not end up with an acceptance. Like a poster said above, we will get through this application cycle TOGETHER, one way or another

The waiting is the worst part for me, especially because I can't  make any plans for my life in the next year until I know where I'll be. Does anyone have tips for getting your mind off of it or dealing with that?
I'm finding it especially hard right now  because I still have an interview that I'm preparing for, so it's not like I can push it completely aside.
I know that no matter what happens I will be okay, but the uncertainty sucks. Do you guys feel like this? Or how are you coping?

Received an informal offer from my Windsor POI for Neuropsych! My application still has to go through some committees and the Dean before a formal offer, but I'm very excited.

Those who received invites / waitlists from UBC/UBCO, were these mass emails or private contacts?
    Can you DM your POI?

I received an email from a POI at UBC-O informing me that he has compiled a list of applicants and is currently reviewing them. He said the department will be providing more information (i.e. interview invites) in early February. Hope this helps, best of luck!!

I interviewed there a few years ago and have friends in the program. The first day is a typical interview day, like lab tours, individual interviews with lab members, faculty interviews, etc. The second day is the research conference where students/faculty present.

For anyone else wondering about Concordia, the interview day is only for a small number of POIs (5-6?) who are affiliated with a certain research centre. The others conduct their interviews individually throughout Jan and feb and very likely haven’t reached out to applicants yet.

Finally, Concordia said the official “nope”to my clinical psychology aspirations. But at least they thoroughly and comprehensively explained their decision in the letter: no place. Nooooow I get it!! ??

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing okay today. Stay strong wherever you are in the process. Anyone heard from UVIC lately? From the looks of things in previous years they seem to move a bit slower than the other schools, but just thought I would send feelers out.
    Thanks!

5/5 down for rejections, who wants to have a misery party? See y'all next cycle
Jokes aside, I'm happy I made it as far as I did, applying to the top POIs at the top schools in Canada straight out of undergrad and still getting a few interviews. My GREs were pretty crap, none of my refs were even clinical psychologists and I had 0 connections to most of my PIs. Gonna take this time to retake GREs, build up my research, and smash the next cycle next year (or just wait two years depending on my job). I said I'd be upfront about rejections, so if you're feeling down about yours, just know everything happens for a reason and now wasn't your time--but next year/two years might be.  LOVE U CANADA THREADDDD

Apparently they send out wait listed last... so it may be better than nothing or we may just be next round of rejections hahah
