Thanks for sharing! I've been stalking the boards for info on Calgary, so it sounds like their initial screening and forwarding applications to PI's is nearing completion, which is nice to have an idea of where they are at. I hope your interview goes well and you click with the PI!

What I noticed during a couple of my interviews last year was some interviewees constantly trying to be "impressive". PI's have already reviewed your application and already know you are qualified, now they just want to get to know YOU, as a person. Focus less on trying to be better than others or trying to prove why you deserve a spot. I recommend instead focusing more on trying to be your authentic self and everything else PsyDuck90 said. When I interviewed I made a document for each school I got an interview at and went through their website and their handbook and write down any questions I had: specific to the program, specific to the PI, specific to graduate student life, and specific to how they address social justice issues. I also added some of my key points I wanted to try and touch on during my interview with the PI (this was more to ease my nerves in case my brain went blank), such as my research interests and research ideas that could complement their line of research. I honestly had a great time during my interviews and I think a lot of it had to do with me just reminding myself that the hardest part was getting the interview, now it was more about getting to know me and about me getting to know them and how my quality of life would be if I were to get an offer. Also make friends with the other interviewees! They will eventually be your colleagues and you might see them at other interviews or future conferences.

SFU, I hear are planning to invite students for interviews shortly and WILL be sending this information out next week - Tuesday is the deadline for interviewers to confirm and then between Wed and Fri you should hear (prob Thurs or Fri to be safe)
 
IF people have questions about their interviewers - don't hesitate to ask. I will check this on occasion to pass info as per every year
 
I am still waiting to hear from peers at other schools about their system and will inform once I find out.

I applied to Calgary and did contact the department about this ahead of applications. They assured me that you do not need to have your final official transcript in unless you are accepted. As long as you have an official transcript there, you should be good! They said submitting an official transcript early just streamlines the process, should you be accepted. 
To answer your question though, I sent my official transcript ahead of the deadline as well (in addition to my unofficial one) and it's showing as incomplete on my to-do list as well. However, given what I said above, I don't think that this is too big of a problem (at least I hope it's not ?)

Anyone interviewing at McMaster should DEFINITELY ask about these in faculty and student interviews--folks deserve to know that how the department is actively making changes and how changes will be implemented. These are not claims to be held lightly (that and the other huge scientific fraud case in the department are making me really look at mac with a side eye).

I have! My third choice contacted me.

I was interviewed/offered a spot in a program where I didn't list CGS-M for (could only list 3 schools lol). The PI had sufficient funding though and I would have applied for CGS-M once I was in grad school. I think it depends on whether your PI has enough funding for you/is willing to support you that first year if you didn't apply for external funding.

Thank you! I applied to CGS for some schools but obviously not every school can be listed so I really appreciate that reassurance that things can still happen
