folks being interviewed at UW-M: a) congrats! b) are you being contacted by adcom people or is it specific faculty you mentioned in your SoP?

Some public utility: back when I applied I was checking this resource: https://www.martindevaux.com/2020/11/political-science-phd-admission-decisions/. It is outdated (last year available is pre-pandemic), but with this link + some scrolling of the results page you can have a decent idea of when to expect results. Bear in mind that these dates will vary from year to year, and sometimes it depends on decisions that are not at the hand of individual departments or adcoms (budget restrictions from colleges, etc), and there is also some calendar-related noise (holidays, snow days, wheter the 1st of January is a Wednesday or a Sunday, etc).
 
Also, don't waste your time and mental health updating portals. You may find out that you have been rejected, but it is *very* unlikely that you will be admitted and find out on the portal before receiving word from the department.

fwiw, looking at past results, it's unlikely anyone has heard from Duke yet, nor been invited to an interview for that matter, which Duke does not seem to do. (But I'm happy to be wrong)

I would like to give a huge thanks to everyone on this forum for being such a supportive group this year. This cycle has effectively ended for me, pending my MA application responses. 
I will be taking a break from this forum and come back around April to post my final results as I'm in the last leg of my master's (thesis defense soon ?) and would like to focus on finishing on a strong note.

This cycle isn't over for me yet, but I just want to say how thankful I am for this little corner of gradcafe. You have been so positive and supportive, providing advice to others on how to strengthen applications, gain more theoretical/methods knowledge, and helping some nurse their rejection(s). Hey Everyone, I know that for many of you all today has just been horrible. But I want to let y'all know that going through the cycle again, while daunting right now, is not bad at all. Take what you've learned from the cycle this year, both the good and the bad, and use it to get a head start on next years applications. I know right now it looks hopeless and horrible, but please remember that you are all a bunch of amazingly smart and talented individuals who will get into academia, one way or another. Going through this cycle more than once (or twice or three times) is actually fairly common. So please don't let this get you all too down! 
ALSO, 2020 and corona has really messed up the whole admissions process. Honestly on a normal year I bet you all would've been swimming in acceptances right now. 

It's not costing a lot don't worry! I just have to pay a few bucks per month for it to support the number of hours running, but I won't have to after March once people stop using it as much. Independently of that, if you want to run the R code locally there's a GitHub link to the code on the page.

How are you hosting this? I hope we're not costing you tons of money - if you need to, it might be worth pulling it down and just giving us the R code to run locally.
