  1. What about an unofficial rejection? I didn't get an interview with Emory which basically means thanks, but no thanks. I knew it was a long shot, but it doesn't make the pill go down any easier.
  2. If you like Degrassi (which I do!) you will LOVE U.K. Skins!
  3. I, too, have been drowning my sorrows in Netflix. I love Skins! It's one of my favorite shows! (U.K. of course, not the awful U.S. version). My husband and I just re-watched all the seasons a few weeks ago.
  4. I am really feeling this thread today. I'm already feeling hopeless and it's not even February.
  5. WUSTL (Late January) Northwestern (late January last year) Emory (interview notifications) Duke (early February last year) Kansas (early February past 2 years) UMass Amherst (First week or so of February) Buffalo (First week or so of February)
  6. Yeah, I thought about that dressing up part. Emory's interviews are in person, but I'm trying not to think about them because the likelihood that I will get one is super slim.
  7. This isn't about Chapel Hill, but i know how you feel about finding things out in January. Emory starts contacting people for interviews that day after MLK Day, so I'll know VERY soon if I'm even a contender there. I know it's a long shot to begin with, but I'm surprised this anxiety is starting already since I just finished my last application last night.
  8. Yay!!!! I am FINALLY done with all of my applications! Okay, so technically I still have to mail in the TOship materials for funding for UMass, but I am ultimately DONE with the applications. Damn it feels good to be a gangster.
  9. I am hoping that the newness of the scores will work in all of our favors.
  10. That conversion chart isn't right because I got a 530 math which is 148.
  11. That sounds really helpful. I think doing that would lessen the scariness of it.
  12. Um, a skype interview terrifies me. I would much rather do a phone or in-person. I don't know why......
  13. I actually think an interview could help me. I'm much better explaining myself, my experience, and my interests. I don't think some of my stats exemplify all that I have to offer.
  14. A couple of the schools I applied to offered fee waivers, but I didn't even look into it. Maybe I should have.....
  15. Yeah, I already checked that. However, it doesn't tell you if they received your writing sample that you had to mail in, and the date they said they received my GRE scores was actually BEFORE they were even sent, so I emailed to confirm they had everything, and then did. Now I just need to mail in the TO application...
  16. UF was only 30 bucks, plus the 1.25 processing fee. I couldn't believe it!
  17. Emory does interviews, and they start notifying next week. Also, UMass Amherst interview for teaching positions, but I'm not sure if that is in person, phone, or skype.
  18. Me too. I've noticed errors on my Works Cited for the writing sample of the first couple of apps, and then I noticed TODAY an error on my CV that has gone out to 9 out of my 10 apps. Awesome. I just want to get this show on the road and get it over with.
  19. We are so close......I'm starting to get terrified at the REAL reality that I could not get in somewhere.....
  20. Never mind. I just confirmed everything. I'm good to go.
  21. I know this is totally minor, but I just realized that I put the wrong date on an award I received on my CV. It's a stupid typo, but it doesn't make sense because it's an award I received at graduation and the date I put was two years before I even graduated. Wow. I'm not sure how I did that. Ugh.
  22. Thanks for the info. I'm not freaking out, just checking to make sure all materials were received. I had a couple of schools say they didn't receive materials only to find them later, so I just wanted to make sure other schools didn't have the same problem.
