This could mean that your application did not make it past the internal review process at your institution and so would not have been forwarded to NSERC for consideration in the national competition. Unless you were told by your department that you were successful in being submitted to NSERC?

This sounds like the case, unfortunately. I was not sent out last year and mine still just says 'Submitted'.

I should correct my wording. Our funding is called a research assistant fellowship (you can also get a taxable research assistantship without the fellowship name in it but that is usualy rare unless you are cross-hired by another research group other than your PI's)... it is typically renewed on an annual basis so you have to sign a document acknowledging the start/end date and various collective agreement negotiated by the grad student association....

You are right. I should double check. But I felt like the policies regarding graduate students are rather vague. We are kinda unique in that we are employed somehow but not really.....?

I agree, it is complicated! Sounds like you are ok though, get that CERB!

Guys PLEASE HELP! I feel like the administrator at my school did not submit my PGS D application. Just logged onto NSERC website and the status says "submitted" not "approved". Does that mean that the school did not submit my application

I did not get any emails from NSERC at all

That's what happened to me last time....your school should have notified you in advance....

Ah, that's why. We pay tuition, so we both end up with very similar total funding.

Ok this all makes way more sense now. I guess the only downfall to how it is done at dal, is that we do not qualify for CERB as easily as one might at another school!

Acadia is also terrible for TA pay. My partner received $1500 for 100 hours of TA work per term. I went to UVic and it was $25/hour for 200 hours ($5,000) per term.

At UBC I think it's $15/hour for undergrad TAs, $30/hour for Master's and $32/hour for PhD students.

Also I just got the e-mail, last name D
