Quigley Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Yes, congrats on UCLA! Just curious, was it automated, from a POI, DGS, or ???
balledematch Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Wow congrats to UCLA! Now heart is beating extra fast.

CGMJ Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Dear everyone: Please. Stop. Sending. Me. Emails. PoliSwede, balledematch and your humble servant 3
balledematch Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Dear everyone: Please. Stop. Sending. Me. Emails. God I just got like 4 emails on my "apps and other academic stuff" email address....rarely do I ever get anything not relevant to apps at this time of night. Naturally they were all useless (except the invitation to a happy hour on Friday, of course). Sigh.
catchermiscount Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 You should go! Naturally they were all useless (except the invitation to a happy hour on Friday, of course). Sigh.
balledematch Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 You should go! Trust me...I'll be there. After all the anxiety about apps, plus the work I have to do this week, I can't think of anything that would help more than a little HH.

polisciftw Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 UCLA is me. I got an email from a POI indicating that I had been admitted.

your humble servant Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Congrats to recent admits! It is great to have good news today. I look forward to meeting other OSU people late March!
alittlebitofluck Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Congrats to UCLA Yes, congrats! Also congratulations to Stony Brook!
Mnemonics2 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Random question: What do people think the average ratio of applications per number of spots finally given out is? How many applications for the standard 10 spots, say?
balledematch Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Congrats to the other UCLA! This may just be me rationalizing it to myself, but I think in previous years UCLA has rolled out funded offers first, then waited a few days before sending out waitlisted for funding offers. Still nervous, but trying to stay in my shoes.
Quigley Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) Number of applicants just depends on the program. Davis gets around 120, UNC and Wisconsin are in the ballpark of 300. UCLA is closer to 400-450 I believe. I'm sure the top 5 are well north of there. Edited February 4, 2013 by Quigley
polisciftw Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Thanks for the congrats, everyone. I feel extremely humbled and honored. I am also quite shocked. I did a cartwheel when I got the news! your humble servant 1
frankentheory Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Congrats to the Colorado Boulder admit! Great program!
rkmattson Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Congrats to the Colorado Boulder admit! Great program! Thank you! I was seriously beginning to doubt whether or not I'd get in - and seeing the two UCLA posts made me want to start my Plan B rolling but then got the email. Very excited to know I'll be going to grad school next year!
Savage Henry Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 To those who interviewed at Vanderbilt, did the POI you spoke with give a time frame to when they thought decisions would be made? Thanks
