  1. Really? I was getting anxious about it since I started late this application round, thanks!
  2. I'm still thinking about applying to Canada, mostly because I haven't taken the IELTS which they require for some applications.... I might ask if I can apply with the toefl.
  3. I have had a great experience with both Magoosh and Manhattan. I'm also using KhanAcademy for math and verbal. So far I really like khanacademy for algebra and geometry, I'm currently using it also to study probability. So I really recommend those 3. Barron's is also good for vocabulary but Magoosh has the free flashcards that are also really useful. Khanacademy and ETS kinda have a partnership so it's also good to know how to use it: https://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/prepare/khan_academy
  4. I'm an international student too but I've been studying with Magoosh. I'm following their math beginners plan and it has really helped me, right now I'm just focusing on Math since I have a good verbal score, but their verbal practice questions are really good. Also, right now Magoosh has a 10% off on their GRE plans with the promo code: SUPERFAN
  5. If you are using Magoosh you can ask for an extension for up to 1 month after it expires, but I think it depends when your account expired. I asked for an extension when I still had 1 week left and they gave me 1 month If you are planing on buying the 1 month plan I'd recommend to buy it before the 29th since right now they have a 20% off sale on all their products and they announced that after November 29 they will increase the price of their products. Good luck!
  6. I'm also applying to UK! but I haven't contacted any supervisor yet :/
  7. Anyone else applying with kinda average math GRE scores? I have a good verbal score but quant is just not my thing... Also, I'm really worried about reapplying to a program that rejected me last year, do you think it's even worth it to reapply to that program?
  8. If you still have a month to prepare I seriously recommend to follow the 1 month study plan from Magoosh it really helps with math. Also try to study a bit of pre-algebra to understand the concepts better it's all about practice for the quant section.
  9. I think that Manhattan is more difficult than powerprep, mostly the vocabulary since the math sections are pretty accurate. I have been taking the Magoosh mock tests and people say that their results on the actual gre were almost the same if not higher than the estimated scores.
  10. I believe that Magoosh questions are more difficult in order to prepare you for the adaptive mode of the real exam. As far as I know, if you do good on the first math section, the second will be harder, that's why Magoosh offers a wide range of practice problems, ranging from easy to very hard levels, in order to prepare us for that. I'm not sure if you are in the Magoosh facebook group: Magoosh Superfans, a lot of the posts there are related to the accuracy of the real scores and the scores from Magoosh practice tests, which are almost the same.
  11. As far as I know, the difficulty of the second section (and maybe third section) depends on your performance on the first section. I believe that's the reason some study guides have really hard practice problems, like Magoosh you can start with easy and medium levels of difficulty for practice problems, and gradually start with the hard and very hard levels. Seems like the quant problems on the GRE are not as difficult as those levels, still practicing those at that level of difficulty really prepares you in case the second section is difficult in the GRE.
  12. I'm also studying with Magoosh and actually you don't need to purchase the extra material, they just suggest to use them and is really helpful, but you can practice using just online resources and Magoosh. I'm actually using additional resources than the ones they suggest because I couldn't find some, so you can really adapt the study plans to your needs. Answer all the questions, practice with both math and vocab flashcards and do the practice tests. Then you can substitute some of the material they suggest, you can use the official ETS material, use other online flashcards or resources and incorporate it to your study plan! One thing you should follow is how the days are structured, like do try to read at least 30 min. a day and learn as many words as they suggest (for the study plan I'm following I have to study 10 words a day). The study plan is something you can definitely adapt to your needs and is great to follow that way you know how much you have covered.
