I'm going so crazy, still haven't heard from the place where I interviewed, and I caved and emailed my POI this morning. On another note, I've been in contact with professors at two others schools who keep insisting to me interviews aren't being conducting and decisions are still being made AS I SEE: interviews and acceptances on the board. So frustrating.

For anyone who is wonder: NYU told me they are "still making admissions decisions". I kind of doubt that, as accepted students day is this weekend....

@Nat_Foot Would you be able to contact Toronto History and Philosophy of Science in addition to general philosophy?

Still haven't heard much except for a few rejections. This waiting is just getting to be tiring. Any distraction tips, please send my way. Also, how long after an informal interview do people usually hear?

Has anyone else been so stressed that they've gotten less social? I feel like I've been just too emotionally drained to make plans/go out/etc.

@nevermind thanks, yeah I think the acceptances were in a slightly different subfield but the POI mentioned the adcom wanted him to talk to me specifically because he's an expert in what I want to do, so they wanted more clarity. Before the interview he said they were looking at their top candidates to guage the fit. Plus he seemed interested to know it was my top choice. I just wonder when I'll hear!

Another acceptance just went up at the school I interviewed with yesterday. Is it odd they'd be interviewing people as they're accepting them?

Hopefully today will be a big day! I have two schools who have sent out acceptances, rejections, and waitlists. In large numbers. And to me? nothing of course. Plus I just came down sick so I'm kind of stuck at home.

I have my first interview today. Ahh! Have no idea how it's going to go.

I'm in a slightly decent situation in that I'm only 21 and could do a master's/get a job/whatever else 21 year olds do for one or two years. But yeah I haven't heard anything except probably bad news from most of my programs and I'd just really like to enter accepted into the results search!

Tips for one on one lunch interview with POI? Dive right into research, make small talk, how much should I "sell" myself and my CV?

Thanks! Yeah that's true. I sent him a follow up email that clearly laid out 4 different day/times that we could meet. So hopefully I'll hear something.

grr said professor still hasn't gotten back to be about time for interview. now i'm getting nervous it's a fake and they actually made up their minds and rejected me. this is me being crazy, right?

How did the Brown applicant who posted see their status?

@pterosaur I've already met him so it won't be a big deal, he knows all of my past professors so it's not like i'm going to this strange school where I don't know anyone. But yeah I just need a definite time so I know if I should call out of my internship.

Some interesting news came my way this morning: first interview! I emailed the guy back, but he hasnt responded. I'm not sure if I should go to my internship today or not, because the POI hinted he'd prefer to meet today on campus (it's a program at my current university, which is kinda weird haha). I don't want to be 30 minutes away at my internship then have to rush back, but I also don't just want to skip it. Ahh!

@Logik That's so interesting! I've actually become super interested in Canadian history (i'm history of medicine though) even though I'm American. I'm crossing my fingers for IHPST!
