  1. anyone heard more from CUNY other than the initial batch of interviews?
  2. I'm in same situation, kinda going crazy over here. I can't sleep at ALL anymore. On the plus side, my best friend got into a program that would be at a school only like five blocks away from my top choice MA program (I'm applying to PhD and MAs)! So that would make me pretty excited about doing that program.
  3. is anyone here claiming the sociomedical sciences admittance?
  4. Who else applied? what field? and have you heard?
  5. Hii I applied in Anthro! I have the same question. Also, are you canadian or an international student?
  6. hey all, i'm joining this thread even tho i'm not really philosophy (kinda history/philosophy of science/med anthro/ confused in terms of discipline) pretty sure a phd won't happen for me this year. already thinking about my schools for next year.
  7. Seconded. You should email them and then hmu
  8. Congrats to the Brown admits!!! I'm sure you all must be so excited, I'm so happy for you guys!
  9. I've only heard from one school, a rejection, and possibly another impending rejection from a POI. Driving me crazy.
  10. who posted the acceptance for Durham? I'm looking into the program and would love to chat.
  11. is NYU done do we think?
  12. @Josh J. haha yeah i am
  13. odd question: are there any february 15 deadlines for programs?
  14. I'm in the same situation and same field. We should talk.
  15. Happy for everyone in this thread! I haven't really heard ANY news, so I'm getting a bit bummed, some of my programs have sent out interviews and I didn't get one (yet) so I'm starting to think I may have another cycle ahead of me next year :(. or the year after.
  16. @A Librarian Hi! your interests sound so interesting! I've also applied to IHPST at Toronto
  17. Anyone know if all the CUNY interview offers have went out?
  18. @tipmar How much contact did you have with the POI before? I was in contact with one due to an emerging field, and he encouraged me to apply, I asked him a few questions about the program. Could I just say, I was wondering the timeline of my app? Or how do you word it politely? Hehe.
  19. Anyone heard anything from Berkeley med anthro?
  20. As to the debate about master's/not master's: as someone who's coming out of a very good undergrad with a good GPA, would my application be helped by a master's? What would be an advantage or disadvantage? The one I'm thinking of would probably fund me most of the way, and I thought it might be a good option if I get my (expected) straight rejections.
  21. @Pink Fuzzy Bunny It is, but this was also my "shot in the dark" app to the one school that I knew I wouldn't get into but that is a great fit, so honestly if nothing else it's cool that someone in such a prestigious department read my discombobulated app seriously and liked it.
  22. @Pink Fuzzy Bunny I didn't attach a writing sample, and so he wanted one. And then he asked me to elaborate on a few prior research experiences I mentioned. Yeah he works in my exact extremely niche field, so I guess there was some interest. But then he just said I should "ask him questions". Like dude, the only question I have is AM I ACCEPTED?
  23. guyz help me im so confused, why would a professor email for more info and to give me stuff to read?
  24. Hey! Would anyone be open to giving a short profile of themselves after their acceptances? So future applicants can see all the types of profiles that are accepted? Personally I'm always interested in seeing how people came to their projects/anthropology!
  25. So if I spoke with a professor last semester, is there any way I can reach out to him again? Could I say, I submitted my application and look forward to hearing from the department, or something of that sort?
