  1. Another question for any international students who applied at NPSIA. Their website lists a 4 year Honours Bachelor's degree as a requirement (It does mention 'or equivalent') but my home country's Honour's programme is of 3 years as is the case with most colleges here. In this case am I ineligible to apply? I'd appreciate if anybody who faced this issue or has some knowledge can answer this. Also, do you think I should just write an email to them asking about this even though I probably won't be applying for another year and half or so?
  2. I apologize, I misunderstood your original post. I thought you were complaining about everybody on this thread! Sorry about that! Hopefully no hard feelings. I'm an undergrad too, and while I'm definitely not whiny, I do understand the frustrations of people who barely attend classes. Many people like that in my class!
  3. Thank you so much!
  4. Hey everyone! I haven't applied to these schools yet, since I'm still left with two years of my Undergraduate degree in India, however, I was wondering if maybe some of you could answer a few questions for me to? I'd really appreciate it! 1. How much does it cost for an MGA degree from Munk after 2 years? Their website says about 34000 per year but that's more expensive than many Ivy League Unis. And I understand their aid offers aren't very generous, yet another website was claiming it's 29000 CAD or thereabouts. 2. Secondly, and this may be a very dumb question, if I apply at Munk, can I also apply separately at the University of Toronto for a normal MA degree? 3. What would you consider an approximate average GPA which would be considered 'good' for Munk, NPSIA etc. 4. NPSIA demands a course in Introductory Microeconomics to be completed before admission. I'm a little confused as to what this means. From where do I complete the course? I have Economics as a Minor in my Undergraduate, and I've completed a paper on Micro and Macro economics with a stellar result, but does that count? 5. This has been bugging me, but does everyone here apply to these schools directly after Undergraduate or do you wait a year or two for job experiences etc. Sorry for all the questions. I'm just trying to sort out whether there's any point to me applying, because I would really like to study in Canada, and these are some of my top options aside from U. of T and McGill. Thanks everyone!
  5. Thank you Math Cat. I found that Uni. of Toronto does not require a GRE for my Program, and McGill requires one for Doctoral Students, so I guess I'm okay for now!
  6. Hey everyone! I'm from India, and my field is Political Science/International Affairs! Nice to 'meet' all of you!
  7. Hey everyone. I was just wondering, I am currently an undergrad student of Pol. Science in India. I will be applying to some Universities in Canada for my Graduate studies. My top choices are of course University of Toronto and McGill University. I was wondering, would I need a GRE to apply for a Political Science program at either of these two Universities? If so, what sort of score would you count as 'very good'. While I'm at it, could someone please tell me roughly the sort of fees an international student might incur at these two places? I know they're there online but I'm seeing different figures everywhere and it's a little confusing! Thank you!
  8. Where will I be two years from now?! Sigh.

  9. Hey everyone! A big hello from a newcomer to this website. This is the first post I'm making because I'mat THAT stage of my undergraduate life that I realize that I want to study abroad and I need to start preparing for it early. A bit about me. So, I'm currently 19, and have started my second year of my three year Bachelor of Arts Honours course in Political Science. I am from India and once my BA degree is done I want to go abroad and study, with Canada being my top choice because I would eventually like to stay back in Canada and become a permanent resident after a point. Now, my questions are not limited to Canadians, but open to all HOWEVER if you are an Indian who has gone to Canada for Graduate studies in the social science field and have applied to some of the places I'm mentioning below I would be indebted for your insight and if you could recount your experiences to me! So, the places I'm thinking of applying are: University of Toronto, Munk School of Global Affairs, McGill University. These are the three I have in mind so far, but I'm open to adding more.If anyone has applied here and got in, I'd love to know the sort of resume you presented in terms of gpa, non-academic activities and more. Also one very important question, many of these institutes in Canada ask for a Four year BA degree "or equivalent". Well all my Bachelor courses in my college are for three years only, in fact most colleges in India offer three years UG and then a year or sometimes 2 of Graduate studies. So, am I ineligible altogether if I'm only doing 3 years of Undergraduate? Thanks for reading through all of this! I look forward to hearing from some of you!~ Sagnik.
