Hi sorry I'm so late on this - I hope you've heard by now! I heard from them on February 17 last application season.
-
I feel the exact same way! I also feel terrified that I'm going to mess it up for my clients - and the Imposter Syndrome is the most real thing.

I think I'll end up living with someone also, but I don't really want them to be in my cohort either! It's just cheaper to have at least one other roommate. I'm hoping Craigslist will have some other grad programs looking for roommates.

It really is one of the toughest calls and is completely dependent on what you ultimately think will be the best for you. And yes, I know I'm very grateful to even be in this position! I cannot imagine having to factor in a family and whatnot with kids. That must make the decision even more important and harder!! Good luck on making your decision, and I'm sure you'll make the right one it sounds like you're really thinking it through, which is good even if it seems like the hardest decision. That's how you know you'll make the best one!

I'm in a similar position @SLPsingballs agh :/ Only thing is I love Milwaukee and accepted my offer there, but just got accepted from Central Michigan University with an offer of a GA position and in-state tuition. I'm so torn and don't honestly know what to do... and CMU needs an answer by April 21st (but I just emailed asking for a deadline so fingers crossed on that).

I just officially accepted my offer to UW-Milwaukee's program Reasons? First, it is the only place I've fully been accepted to. I'm on some waitlists, but yeah. Second, I just visited and their program seems really nice! They have a professor there who is interested in Voice Disorders and has been researching Transgender Voices, which I would love to be a part of. I also found that they have some electives in Adult Neurogenic Disorders (!!!), which is one of the things I'm most interested in! I really would like to work with TBIs, etc., so that's right up my alley Cons to the school: price! I'll be in debt forever. lol. (I laugh, but it's really not that funny)

What Schools Are You Waiting On!?

Finally heard back from St. Ambrose and Michigan State! Rejected and waitlisted. One more to go. Thank god for Milwaukee ? -
So many INFJs!! I know ENFJ is also pretty rare at I think around 2.5% or something. Rare is cool ahahah. I always find meyers briggs personality types interesting because they do seem to really align with each person I know!
-
I love this explanation! I'm an ENFJ and I feel like that also plays a role in why I chose this field. I didn't even think about it

Interesting question!! I didn't grow up taking care of a parent. I'm wondering if my parents history in the medical field led me to combine my interests in science and language? My parents are both in the medical field in some way, so I've grown up around it.

I'm also jealous haha considering I could be paying around 40k per year (summer classes why). -

@kenz mine is pretty freaking high to be honest, but as of right now my only choice. I do so far love the program at least! Since I'm out of State, UW-milwaukee is around $14-15k for one semester cost of living is looking like around 600-700 for rent for a 1 bedroom/studio. Ugh. -
Schools that like "Older" Students and Spring Admissions

I know St. Ambrose (in Iowa) loves people who have experience! They don't have spring admissions though! -

If only I was in-state. Sigh. -
Agreed!! Why does it need to be that confusing? I wish it was just like "here is your tuition as an SLP doing a masters"

Callen replied to speechie2b's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Omg are you kidding? What is their deal? I'm annoyed that they're taking so long. I doubt I'm going there either, but still. -

Hey there!! Would you mind putting what she said as the tuition rates?? Also, I think I didn't notice the two summers either. I assumed once they told me that there were two summers that it wouldn't be this upcoming summer? Or am I wrong? -
I'm going to bump this back up because I just realized the cost of going to Milwaukee, and I'm real nervous lol.
-
Not sure if I'm going to UW-MILWAUKEE yet, but anybody know if there's an fb group??
