  1. Hardest day of this whole process... watching those who were invited to interview being shown through the department... while I sit wait-listed.

  2. Mine too, but I've been wait listed (and already warned that they RARELY go back to the list), so... onward and upward I suppose lol
  3. Anyone else applying to Masters programs? I'm applying to the University of Memphis MSGP program. My research interests include trauma related issues (PTSD, etc) and non-pharmacological treatments for PTSD.
  4. University of Memphis has a Masters in General and an excellent Clinical PhD program. I'm applying to the Masters program (due May 1)
  5. Aaaaaand... I'm out. My POI was nice enough to email me and inform me I didn't make the cut for interviews and while I am still in the running she "rarely" ends up going back to the second round picks. I'm ok with this. I knew it was a long shot. BTW, Apparently University of Memphis has apparently issued all the invites for the Clinical program according to the two professors I spoke with today (both in the clinical department).
  6. School: University of MemphisArea/Degree: Clinical Psychology PhD ProgramRationalization: I wasn't as qualified as other applicantsComment: I knew before I applied that it would be a long shot, even though I already work with my POI.Coping tactics: Working on my MSGP application, staying busy with classes and teaching and generally continuing to be awesome! (BTW, all invitations for interview have been extended by UofM Clinical PhD program according to other professors I have spoken with in the department).
  7. I talked to one of the Clinical faculty today for the University of Memphis. He told me that invitations to interview have already been issued. That if I hadn't heard anything yet, that meant I was not going to be invited to interview, but since I have also not received a rejection to not give up hope. I could be second/third string. So... now it looks like I may be waiting until April to know anything.
  8. I'm the same. I know some offers have gone out and at least one rejection (according to the results page). But I'm in limbo, so...
  9. Saw my POI today... thought I might bite through my tongue resisting the urge to ask "So.....?" LOL

  10. Has anyone had an autistic student in their classes? Do you have any suggestions for how I might better teach a student with Autism? They have an assistant with them, so I imagine they will be able to assist me as well. I was only able to meet her in passing as I had to leave for another class. BTW, I am an undergrad doing the job of a TA teaching breakout sessions for a General Psychology class. This is my second semester teaching these sessions but the first time I've had a student with Autism. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
  11. I hate waiting... I need to know! One way or the other, I need to know. I know "no news is (supposed to be) good news", but I need to know if I got into the program or if I need to start focusing on other programs... or... if I need to start lining up an internship and finding a job.

Yep, no news being good news definitely is not applicable to this process!!!

I agree. I just want to know if I really should start launch to my Plan B or even Plan C. I just heard about a good job opening that fit my interest but it has a one year contract and I  just know that by the time I got my program decision, the job would be gone. If those decision is gonna be rejection, why can't I know them now..

  12. My research interests involve PTSD and non-traditional (aka pharmacological) treatments especially mindfulness and the use of psychiatric service dogs in mitigating the severity of symptoms.
  13. So, I've seen that some of the applicants for University of Memphis have begun receiving phone calls for interviews. I currently attend UofM and have only applied there for grad school due to not being able to relocate. Here's my problem, I am currently an RA with one of my POI's and will see them on Thursday. They are NOT the type of person that you simply ask "so... hey, what about me?" But I also know I have ZERO poker face. How do I get through the lab meeting without potentially destroying my chances? Technically I do not have to be at the meeting since classes have not started, but I have been trying to make a good impression by attending all the meetings I have been in town for, including tomorrows. Any suggestions? With ANY amount of luck, someone will call me today and I won't have to worry about it, but I'm not holding my breath. Please help!
