Same for me! I haven't heard anything since mid-January when I emailed my POI and he said they hadn't received the applications yet- 1,055 replies

I know U of M had a glitch where they sent out acceptances emails to some people around mid-November. Someone may have just jumped the gun in posting.- 1,055 replies

There are always the possibility of second round interviews! Last year I was interviewed in March at Regina. I didn't end up getting in, but some of the profs do wait a bit before sending out invites, or hold second round interviews. I know some of the profs have sent out interview requests already, but I wouldn't necessarily lose *all* hope!- 1,055 replies

That's fair. I'm really trying to not be too anxious but I know my POI was interviewing a lot of people, so the waiting is painful, especially when I know there are so many people that I'm up against, even for this one prof. I think that's a good idea! I sent her a thank you email the day of, but I don't want to push her or seem annoying so I don't want to bombard her. 10 days does seem pretty reasonable to ask for a small follow-up or update though. Thank you!! That's true! That's actually a really good way of looking at it. I'm trying to keep myself as busy as possible and not let myself get ahead of myself and sort of prepping for the worst just in case, but that is a very good point. Thank you again!

Fall 2017 Clinical Psychology Applicants

If they've had back and forth correspondence with you, it may be that the POI doesn't feel they necessarily need to interview you, or they may feel like you might not be the right fit for them. I probably wouldn't email them to push into an interview, but it may be a good idea to send sort of a "inquiring as to whether your interview invites have all been extended". Can't hurt, at least. -

I think after a person has been accepted they may delve into it, but it doesn't seem to be a part of the application package that they receive initially, no.- 1,055 replies

The likelihood of being accepted really varies from one year to the next. Last year I had no interviews, while this year I've been interviewed at my top 3 choices, despite not many changes to my application. Similarly, one year you might be one of the first people rejected and the next you may be a top choice candidate. It really depends on the applicant pool and the qualifications of the other people being considered. With that said, it seems you have a fairly solid application. Assuming your GRE scores are also fairly solid, I'd say your application seems pretty competitive and you'll likely do well. If not, there are always things you can do to improve your application (more publications, more diverse experience, new roles, etc) for the next years.
