    Thats what i did and it worked lol. At the same time, couldnt see myself do something for 5 years in a place i didnt love on a topic i didnt love

    After 4 days I FINALLY came up with a proposal idea for this class that is totally not my thing... THANK GOD as the due date is thursday..

    for sure! plus it's cheaper for them too (as they usually fund part of your flight). Sure it will make you look good if you can come, but nobody will hold it against you if you can't come I'd say - especially if you're abroad (i.e., Korea - East Coast is FARRRRR).

    Go for a walk or do something else for a bit to get your creative juices flowing - it may seem counter productive but it actually works

    I did skype because i was abroad. They never invited me to campus, it was directly a skype invite

    trust them! And it is not uncommon for schools to accept LORs a bit after the deadline because well, it's out of your control and referees suck sometimes lol

    Yaay my proposal went horrible in my lab meeting and I'm feeling horribly lost and wayyy too much work next 2-3 weeks. FML FOR REAL

    Don't put participation on..... ?!?!?!?! Wouldn't even know how to put all mine on, given I did 100+ studies lol (and let's not forget about all the Mturk folks)

    Finally submitted my app :') Don't know why it took me so long or why I was so 'nervous' about it.

    And otherwise contact the grad office of that program - there must be a way for them to resend it!

    I think 3 is fine as long as you can make concrete why you're interested in their research and how it sort of relates in an overarching framework.

    Research experience! Try to get into a lab, preferably with an established PI that could also write you a ref

    they led me in with something that had some awkward parts :') So I really wouldn't stress it too much. Fit is most important, so thats what you want to convey
