First year grad student here! I was taken off the waiting list for the school that I'm currently attending. And actually, it was the only school I got into. I was rejected from everywhere else. So I TOTALLY understand what you're feeling. They talked a lot about "imposter syndrome" my first semester. If you aren't familiar, look it up! I felt like I wasn't good enough either, and it always feels like you're the only one that feels that way, but I guarantee you're not! As you start your program (CONGRATULATIONS!), keep this in mind as the "waitlist" mentality stuck with me.
Most professors will either not remember or don't care, and honestly people in your cohort don't really care either.
I was tight lipped about getting in off the waitlist, until someone else confided in me that they were taken off the waiting list. In fact, four people, including myself, were taken off the waiting list. So chances are, you're not the only one either. But of course, keep that information to yourself if that's what you want! Nothing wrong with that either.
Like @KelsHud said, know your worth. You are 10000% valuable and qualified to be in your dream program. Don't deny yourself the full experience and elation of getting into your dream program! That's a big deal!
    Again, congratulations!!

I agree with @bibliophile222, review some basic basic things if you feel the need to.
Personally, I’d recommend that you really enjoy your summer. Hang out with family and friends. Go on a cruise, take a vacation somewhere, something that you’ve been wanting to do, but haven’t had the chance. Once grad school starts all of that time to do things for yourself kind of goes out the window. My biggest regret was not taking advantage of my summer before my first semester.
Your classes should review things that you learned in your post-bacc or undergrad, and go into those subjects more in depth. We did this in my program at least.
    Congrats on getting accepted!

I agree. Getting on the waitlist was probably the most anxiety inducing. And I understand everything you said about staying on this forum. I was on it all the time because it gave me hope and comfort to see others who were in the same predicament or experiencing the same things as me.
That's awesome! The gym will definitely help keep your mind occupied!
Can't wait to hear back from you!

I know it seems dark, I myself was rejected from every school I applied to and waitlisted at one, and thankfully was taken off the waiting list. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel! This time of year was definitely the hardest for me, so make sure you're doing a lot of self care! That helped me a lot!
    Good luck!!

This time of year was honestly the worst part about the whole application process, so again, go and treat yourself to a spa day or something!
And you're welcome. I was on this forum ALL the time, so I feel compelled to share my experience with the hopes that it may help others.
In all honesty though, being on the forums all the time made me feel so much worse. That might be something to consider if seeing all the posts amps up your anxiety.
    Wishing you all the best!

@gianinainabottle I am currently attending a residential grad program in Washington (it was a huge move!) so I cannot personally answer your question about attending an online master's program.  However, I know several people who are in CSUN's online program, and they are loving it.  They are able to work in the field (!!!) while going to school, and can pay for their program outright.  That seems like a major bonus, but at the same time the have a 3-year program.  In the end, you do what is best for you.  For me, a 2-year residential program fit the bill.  If I hadn't been accepted to any schools the first round, I would definitely have applied to CSUN's online program.  Best of luck to you!!

Yeah my friend went to the interview and said about 90% of applicants were out of state. It is usually the other way around with the majority being students from CSULB. I wish you the best of luck!!!

I applied to CSULA, CSULB, CSU Chico, CSU Fullerton, and CSU Fresno.
I got invited for an interview from CSULA (2/14)
A friend of mine got an email from CSULB earlier today, but I haven’t received anything.
Does anyone know if they send out their invitations for interviews on different days? Or is it pretty safe to say that if I don’t get an email from CSULB tonight that I won’t be getting one at all?

    Good luck to you all!!!

I would highly recommend the ETS materials! Since the practice tests are written by the people who actually write the GRE, they are very accurate.

I found the actual test to be easier than the Magoosh questions and did better on the test than my practice tests.

Yes, I found them to be very accurate. I suggest using the ETS materials and Magoosh. I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard that Princeton Review practice questions can be easier than the actual test.

I only used Magoosh. Went from verbal score of mid-150s when I began to an actual GRE V of 163 (92nd percentile). Never looked at math as English departments don't care much about those scores. I liked the videos Magoosh used to give reasoning and help one learn why certain answers are better.

Like already mentioned, I'd definitely suggest the Princeton review book. Registering the book online gives you two real tests. They score the entire thing, including the essays with feedback! Their tests, imo, were exactly like the actual gre.

I'm only using ETS and Princeton Review practice materials.  Princeton's sample questions are pretty close to the real deal, but you should also be using ETS if you want the real questions.

I found Kaplan's, Princeton Review's, and Magoosh's practice tests to be very close to how I actually did.  Manhattan Prep's was not, but a lot of people rave about it, though.
