  1. They don't look at your grades. All my friends recently graduated from grad school and none their jobs looked at their grades.
  2. Nope I haven't heard anything. I was waitlisted with them last year they take forever to give you a word back. I've already said YES somewhere else though. Good luck to you.
  3. I didn't get in my first year of applying. So during my gap year I retook the GRE, did some shadowing, and just lived life. You will get in don't stress. It sucks to not get in the first time but it only makes the time you get in sooo much better. Honestly I looked at my gap year I had to take as a blessing being able to breathe and travel and just go at my own pace. You will do great!
  4. College of Saint Rose! Main reason I applied for the voice modification and medical program.
  5. You have amazing scores and resume. Have you tried the University of Mississippi, Mississippi University for Women, University of Alabama, or University of Memphis? I think you will have good shot at those schools. I have friends who applied there last year and this year and had similar stats and less experience than you.
  6. I was going to apply to 11 but didn't like the two schools I dropped. So I only applied to 9!
  7. Umm you shoudnt feel inadequate. There were probably more qualified people than you which usually happens. Then you probably wanted to add newer people to the school and get out of state tuition. You probably would qualify for in state since you have already been there. Most schools look at who will make them some extra money. Don't feel like anything less in your cohort. You got accepted into a graduate school. Remember your value. 100's of people literally get accepted off the waitlist. I was accepted off the waitlist. I would be different if you were rejected first then they came back saying "Oh hey wanna join". Don't let a little "waitlist" decrease your worth.
  8. Yes there is hope. Last year I applied to 15 schools during my 5th year and did not get in anywhere I was waitlisted at like 5 schools. I was applying with like a 2.85 during that time. So after I graduated I had had two C's from major classes and retook those to classes and got an overall of 2.93. Then this year I got accepted into my dream school. Just got to keep trying. My overall was horrible but my major GPA was a 3.64 and the Last 60 was a 3.50 GPA. Most schools look at the last 60 GPA and major GPA honestly.
  9. PM me. Ill tell you my entire struggle with undergrad and that journey
  10. Hey! So I have a low overall GPA of a 2.83 but my CSD GPA was a 3.67 and last 60 of 3.65. I applied last year to about 15 programs and got declined from all of them and had to take a year off. So over the summer after graduation I retook the 2 CSD classes that gave me C's. Then with my free time I literally was on ASHA looking all summer at each school looking at their requirements for GPA and everything. I also had a ton of clinical experience. Then I retook the GRE test to get a higher writing score of a 4.0. This year I only applied to 9 schools and applied to my dream school and got accepted. Its all about playing your cards right and showing your self of. I bragged about being tri-lingual and my research experience and my experience DONT HOLD BACK! Good luck!
  11. I also interviewed on 3/1 and told us that the following week we should hear something. That Friday I called Ms. Patterson and she told me I was waitlisted.
  12. I am waitlisted at College of Saint Rose!!! I hope I get off the waitlist soon this is my dream school. I hope to hear something soon from them! I hope everyone who isn't going declines soon. I have my fingers crossed super tight!!
  13. Same! I have been waitlisted at all my top choices and I just want those people not going there to hurry up and tell them!
  14. Honestly I would say go with UIUC's program the funding is beautiful. You can work out a long distance relationship especially if you really love each other. I would not give up anything like that. Put your education first and be debt free from graduate school. Then you said you loved the faculty and felt like you would really fit in. Sis, chose UIUC and live you best life. However pick where your heart leads you and please update me on where you chose.
  15. Most are ranked. But you can call and ask for you placement and keep expressing your interest I think that actually helps in the long run. I found out yesterday I was waitlisted at my top choice and they said I was at the top of the list but not knowing my spot exactly I am just going to call every week. lol
