Hi Csantamir, Your overall score is really good, but your Quantitative score is not that good. I am still taking the GRE this 2018 and aims to get at least 155 for Quantitative and another 155 for Vocab. There are still Universities that will take your score, but I believe not the top one. Since you have already tried Magoosh in your first GRE Exam, I suggest this two test companies: https://www.kaptest.com/gre https://www.preped.com/find?exam=gre Hopefully, they can help you. I have been trying out their free practice tests and lessons (you can find free lessons in their youtube channel), and so far it helped me regain my Math memories

I suggest investing in test preparation program. They can surely help you with it, their practice tests are very good. Test prep company also provides lessons to help you. Here are my top 3 picks: https://www.preped.com/find?exam=gre https://gre.magoosh.com/online-prep https://www.kaptest.com/gre Although, purchasing textbooks are also a good choice.

Have you tried doing some speed reading? There are a lot of very good programs out there. I would also like to suggest doing some extra tests in Magoosh, Preped and Kaplan. They usually provide free stuff, so no need to worry in spending extra $!

Low Verbal (150) Should I Retake GRE?
JohnKim replied to Onsemiro's topic in Mathematics and Statistics
Hi Onsemiro, I am not sure if this is late, but I just want to suggest this. I found this guide in Quora, so i think it's good to post it here as well. -
Here is How The GRE Test is Scored: https://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/scores/how/ Also, Acceptme already provided the guide: https://www.ets.org/s/gre/pdf/gre_guide_table1a.pdf

Practice tests are only means of letting us refresh our memories with the lessons we had before. Here is what Ashwini Nene's take on practice tests: https://www.preped.com/blog/practice-tests-are-they-good-enough/

A minimum of 3 months should suffice to prepare for the GRE exam. Although, some will extend it to 6 months or more. You will need to strategize when you'll take the GRE Exam.

I have been checking Magoosh's free stuff in Youtube, it is quite helpful

Has anyone here tried Preped? I haven't heard any comment about this. Although, I have been trying out Magoosh, Preped and Kaplan. Hope I can find the best test prep company to help me.

I have been taking the free practice tests provided by a couple of test prep companies - Magoosh, Preped, Kaplan. Having a huge variety of practice test would surely help

I just tried some free practice tests right now - Magoosh, Preped, currently Kaplan. Later on, I'll decide which test would best fit me

Wooooow! Your scores are really high. I'll try aiming for that in my practice tests

Based on my readings in Quora and The Grad Cafe, most people do suggest a minimum of 3 months of preparation for the GRE. So, I suggest taking into consideration your length of time to prepare.

I think you will need to take all the subject/sections of the GRE Exam in one day. Although, I haven't taken it yet (still taking it on Fall 2018), I have read it from the website https://www.ets.org

Right now, I am taking advantage of some free stuff in the internet. Found out Preped provides some free tests, so I have been trying it. They also has the GRE Vocabulary app provided for free. Also, I have installed Magoosh in my android, it is extremely useful!

Kaplan do have a money-back guarantee. You can check their course first and, if you don't like it, you can ask for refund. Here is the full text for the Money-back Guarantee: How do I get my money back? To qualify, you must have paid Kaplan in full and you didn't score higher on the next administration of the official test after completing the program. Call 1-800-KAPTEST within three months of your program expiration date. All claims for refund must be accompanied by an official post-Kaplan program score report. (For Kaplan International Students, the request must be made within 15 days of your original program end date and you must start on the next available date in order to maintain F-1 status. Your I-20 will not be extended and you are responsible for maintaining your status at all times.) All course materials, and if applicable, the Kaplan student ID card must be also returned upon invoking the Higher Score Guarantee refund request. You will receive a refund of tuition paid to Kaplan excluding any applicable shipping, handling or processing fees. IF YOU CHOOSE TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK, YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE REPEAT OPTION. If you prefer testing a bit of the course first (not all, of course), I found this new test preparation program - Preped. They have some free apps provided. I just tried the free tests, for now.

Anyone here heard of Preped?

I am planning on taking GRE this Fall 2018. Hopefully I can find really helpful tips from GRE experts here in The Grad Cafe!
