    I live just an hour north of the city, in a tiny hamlet between Barrie and Newmarket. I'm right on the GO Transit Barrie line, so I've been commuting to YorkU for the past 4 years. Fortunately, I pop down to the city to meet friends on a regular basis, so I'm pretty familiar with Toronto itself, just not the St. George campus! I'm really glad to hear that about the program-- my dad's coworker attended the iSchool and had glowing remarks about the faculty, so I'm really excited to begin! Will you be attending an open house/information session of some kind?

    Hi! Congrats yourself, that's awesome! Have your previously attended UofT or is this your first time? It's my first time, so I'm pretty nervous about fitting into the culture LOL my undergraduate school is very different. I know they have a student-run open house in February, but I haven't heard about any days where we might actually get to meet the faculty, which is honestly something I'd love to do! My semester was too busy in the fall and January to visit the information days, but I might look around for more dates!

    Thank you, me too! I received mine through email, though I had to ask for an early consideration first due to a timing situation. If you're in a squeeze, shoot them an email and see what happens! The worst they can do is say no I hope you hear back soon with positive news

    Hi! I'm a Canadian applicant who finally got some good news Field/Program: Library and Information Science/ Information Schools: University of Toronto, Western University Status? Accepted by UofT woohoo! It's my top school, so I won't be waiting for Western's response Wishing everyone the best! re: funding for MA-- it's very rare in Canada iirc, but I'm not sure about the American system

    Hi there! It is my understanding that they begin sending most acceptances at the beginning of March! I had to ask them for an early consideration, however, due to a timing situation I had. I wouldn't expect anything for another month unless you need an early consideration What's your concentration?

    Oh, I see! Yeah, I see what you mean then. Even weirder that the adviser said something like that to you, when obviously they aren't too old. I'm glad they were wrong though!

    Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! What an odd suggestion, though I do agree that maybe there is some other reason the student dropped out that the adviser couldn't say. That being said, "under review" typically means that they've received the full package now, and does not mean you are accepted or rejected. I wouldn't sweat it over that! Hope you get positive results

    After a series of weeks of having nightmares where I get rejected, I finally received my acceptance while I was hunched over my laptop, clicking around the internet in boredom! Not very glamorous, but I saw the email and started trembling and crying LOL found it hard to think about anything else for the rest of the day.
