  1. Don’t feed trolls. They have a unique combination of being generally attention needy and ubiquitously putative.
  2. As GSG has aptly placed it, and much more diplomatically than myself, but chill. This going forward is a brand new world, where thought and reliance on how the process previously occurred will at best be fraught with peril, and at worse an entirely inaccurate reflection on how things will now be or how you wish them to be....
  3. Quick Q: all really solid programs and you have a legit opportunity, but why no U of Washington?
  4. On the other hand, your rather short history here of 32 posts and 16 thumbs down is impressive and reaching epic status.
  5. No problems. While you certainly should and can exercise your own voice to this rather played out subject, your continued and prolonged announcements on the lost of youth now border on fetishism. Not exactly the look one would like to present during the start of their graduate education.
  6. Lord. Perhaps what you are in search of is not the counsel from seasoned adults that have traveled the maze of academia, but rather reputable Montessori programs as this adherence to your former period of life, e.g. youth, is your major preoccupation?
  7. Only 24 posts and 8 thumb downs, quickly accelerating towards territory known as being the province of a troll.
  8. Now, you are being provocative for the sake of being provocative, and actively losing any sense of being serious on this board. Of course it’s not the same, there are entire systems of HR as well as academic integrity that institutionally prohibit such practice.
  9. If you don’t see an issue: one, why ask? Two, you probably asked as there is some some internal suspicion, albeit small, that there is something janky about all this. Three, while you have full personal autonomy to make such a decision, don’t think there might be some institutional and peer blowback. Four, the fact you are fairly resistant to any of the counsel gracious provided, is telling.
  10. Sounds like you are looking for validation and support of your own conscripted answer, and not the perspectives and insights of those who already navigated this path....
  11. I ditto GSGs comments, especially about next year being not just competitive, but there are many financial issues that will be coming home to roost, even for the most well funded/endowed of programs. The combination of those two items will be bracing for many folks...
  12. The other school that I hear strong reviews from is—https://oneill.indiana.edu/undergraduate/degrees-majors/nonprofit-management.html
  13. If you are considering a MBA for non-profit management then Yale SOM is the premier school. In fact, it wasn’t a mba program until the late 1980s.
  14. Just to add a little banter to the discussion, the LSAT has a fairly accurate barometer if you will be able to pass the bar exam. I think the figure I have seen, that at numbers below 155, place you at a 50-50 chance of passing, and below 150, less than a 25 percent you will ever pass the bar. What is even more incredulous, is that there are law schools out there that have an average lsat score of around 150 or so, e.g. like Capital University Law, where Rep. Jim Jordan went, and maybe why he never passed the bar.
  15. Yep, I think his problem would not be per se Jackson, but rather SOM. They want to see a previous and delineated connectivity to service—their specific approach to an MBA is becoming more and more popular, and is a niche many are finding appealing.
  16. I would certainly look at Yale SOM (probably the premier mba program with a long history of educating executives for the non-profit sector, in fact, it was not an MBA program until the late 1980s) in combo with the Jackson School. Close proximity to NYC and very extensive alum connectivity.
  17. Wrong site, go here and register:https://www.studentdoctor.net
  18. That said, how do you explain those periods in your CV—it’s the first question I would be asking.
  19. That said, it does happen:https://www.today.com/parents/colleges-are-revoking-admissions-offers-due-racist-posts-t187632 https://www.ivycoach.com/the-ivy-coach-blog/college-admissions/colleges-rescinding-offers/ https://www.npr.org/sections/ed/2017/06/06/531591202/harvard-rescinds-admission-of-10-students-over-obscene-facebook-messages
  20. Some do, some do not. If the program is highly ranked and has resources, it would not be surprising at all for them to do a check on social media. They are not just checking on you, but also preserving the integrity of the program.
  21. Certainly, other programs will follow. Much of this is to protect existing students and previously made financial commitments.
