  1. think of it this way: in a few years, when you're an slp, NO ONE will care whether or not you got in right away or off the waitlist. all that matters is you're in! they simply didn't have space before, and now that they do, they want YOU. you're gonna rock it!
  2. Hey!! For what it's worth, I did the same thing - wasted my undergrad (got a 3.1, yikes) but then did USU's second bachelor's program! I worked super hard in those classes to get A's, and then went out of my way to get experience in the field. Even saddled with that low undergrad GPA, I've been accepted to multiple schools this cycle! So keep at it!
  3. Visiting can help, but I think it also depends on what your decision criteria is! For me, I'll be deciding ultimately on cost tbh - so while I enjoy visiting schools if I can, I know in the end, I'm going to choose based off the price tag, so it doesn't necessarily matter if I like one campus more than the other.
  4. I will likely be declining an offer at University of Montana, if that's of any interest to anyone!
  5. I'm going! I won't be bringing my parents, but if you'd like to include yours, I doubt it would be a problem!
  6. i don't know about free time (or lack thereof), but i'd personally go for the lower cost option!! it's always better to graduate with less debt imo. it'll only be for a few years, and you can always move to an area you really love after you've got your degree!
  7. i'm boosting this because their first round of interviews are today i believe! if anyone is able to chime in, i'd really appreciate it ❤️
  8. Aww, thanks so much!! I see in your signature you've got 3 (!!) acceptances already, so congrats to you as well, and good luck for any you're waiting on still!
  9. For sure!! I have a 3.1 GPA from my original undergrad (oof), which was in linguistics, and then a 3.8 from my 2nd bachelor's in communicative disorders! My last 60 units were like, 3.7 or something, I believe. My GRE scores were a 153 Quant/168 Verbal/5.5 writing. I've also spent the past two years working as a para in a kindergarten class, and I've got quite a few observation/shadowing hours! So while my GPA was pretty weak for my first degree, I'd like to think the other stuff made up for it ?
  10. Hello all!! As you can probably guess from the title, I've just signed up for an interview with Utah State for their LSL program. I know grad school interviewers can sometimes throw in some unique questions, and I'm concerned about making a good impression in a phone interview which will evidently only last about 10min! Has anyone else interviewed with Utah State? Any advice or knowledge on what I should expect? Thanks!
  11. For what it's worth, I got an acceptance to UoP through email today! Good luck to everyone else!! :)
