I got in at UPitt!!! Wow!! This morning I had given up thinking I would get any type of feedback until mid-February.  I'm so happy!

Just learned by phone that I have been accepted to Washington University in St. Louis! I am absolutely thrilled!!!

The anxiety is killing me today! 

As I said not long ago, I'm still eager on UW-Madison. Some people have posted results over the past few days. I have not heard anything yet nor is my portal changed. Is this an implied rejection?

I have applied to Penn State. I received a letter from them in the mail this week. I was so nervous when I saw the address and I read it with shaking fingers. Turns out, it was their undergraduate admissions office sending me a promotional brochure, encouraging me to apply for a bachelors degree at the university. Ughhhhhhh!

Y'all, I've reached the point where every time I get an email I almost have a heart attack. Can I just go to sleep and wake up when all the decisions have been released? 

Sending positive vibes to everyone as we're about to enter this week leading into February.

I have also been a lurker on this thread for a while. I was compelled to go ahead and post by @vondafkossum. (Sorry I am not sure how to directly reply to specific messages in the thread). Any who, I am claiming the first Wisconsin Acceptance to be posted on the leader board type thing. I was notified by UW-Madison via email at around 3:30 yesterday afternoon. Cheers and congrats to everyone who has heard back, solidarity with those still waiting.

Hey folks waiting for responses from UW-Madison!
I applied last year and heard nothing until the end of March, when I finally decided to reach out to ask because it seemed all acceptances, waitlists, and rejections went out around the same time in January. Turned out I was waitlisted, but their system lost my notification. I was ultimately accepted off of the waitlist. 
That‘s all to say that once everything seems to be in, and if you still haven’t heard anything, it’s okay to ask! I wish I would have asked sooner since I ended up having so little time to make a decision that I did it literally on April 15. I’m not sure how rare my situation was, but it’s clearly not impossible!

I've been lurking here for the last couple of weeks while waiting to hear back from the different programs I've applied to. It is truly a grueling process!

For the sake of transparency—or, I suppose, as much transparency as we can hope for (...)—, I just wanted to let you all know that I've been accepted to Wisconsin (Literary Studies). Just added the result now.

Just got waitlisted at the University of Denver! First notice of the season, so very excited that it wasn't an immediate rejection!

Congrats on the Duke acceptance, @poeticdweller—certainly starting things off on the right foot!
As for me...I just got an acceptance email from Ohio State? At this point I thought at best they’d give me a slap on the wrist for double-dipping since it’s the same institution where I got my MFA, but wow wow wow, I’m excited! Taking a course with Jim Phelan is what convinced me I wanted to study narrative theory and pursue an academic PhD in the first place, so this is all very nice and poetic and all that—but mostly it’s just unexpected and I plan to be freaking out about it for quite some time!

Duke interview. Am freaking out. Any tips?

Edit: partner and I both just received interview requests!!!!! We are international so they've requested Skype interviews rather than inviting us to recruitment weekend.

I had the fortune to visit this college over Thanksgiving break, because of my gf's family and other factors. I drove through it. The surrounding area is quite nice, and it gives off a 19th century American "rustic" feeling, like the scenery in a Hawthorne book or something. Spatially, the campus looks quite large, and I understand it enrolls a lot of people.
I also applied there and did the Writing Center application. I don't have any more information, but just wanted to provide a couple of comments because it sounds like you're interested in it.

I would try not to worry about it. Programs are here to make you a better scholar and writer. If your SOP was perfect, you wouldn't need their training. I think most universities are interested in the ideas you have and your thought process behind the ideas. It might be a different story if there were a lot of typos or if there was a bad fit. However, I think an extra word or two won't be used against you.

From your list: OSU, WashU and Duke have traditionally notified in late Jan/early feb. Schools tend to notify acceptances prior to rejection. Some schools might have hidden waitlists.
