  1. *googles how many letters there are in the alphabet*
  2. I get it's a complex situation but as UofT alumna, the staff are generally pretty inconsiderate towards its students never mind applicants. There are people waiting to hear back so they can decide whether to move houses, whether to accept programs elsewhere. It's pretty much mid-April and our applications were sent in over 4 months ago and all we can get is a copy and paste response? Idk, sounds pretty insensitive to me.
  3. This is painfully slow. If they truly wanted to get this done, they would sit down (in the comfort on their own home) to finish. It's April... UofT sucks man.
  4. Currently waiting for UofT 2 year MSW (only social work program I applied to). I actually predominantly applied to graduate programs in clinical psychology with social work as a back-up option. I haven't been admitted to any clinical programs as of yet, nor do I think I will be, but I was accepted to the psychology research stream (MA/PhD) at Ryerson. I have never really considered research before as I always wanted to do clinical work but now I'm unsure. Between MSW and research, why would you guys choose to do social work? I'm pretty confident I will be accepted into MSW at UofT but the deadline to reply to Ryerson is April 15th. I can't believe I'm still this confused about which program to do!!! Any insight about your reasons for doing social work vs. research would be GREATLY appreciated. TIA!
  5. Didn't get an offer for CGS-M for Ryerson even though I got accepted there. I also received an alternate offer for Guelph but I haven't heard anything from them yet. This process is so confusing- I didn't think our results could vary between universities. I was wondering if anyone could offer some insight re: career paths/opportunities for PhD in psychology research. I was accepted into the Psychological Science stream at Ryerson even though I applied for clinical. I'm assuming rejection from all the other clinical programs at this point. I'm also waiting to hear back from MSW (master of social work) at UofT and I'm not sure which one I should choose between the PhD in psych research or MSW..... I feel like social work is pretty similar to clinical and is also such a more secure and predictable path in terms of jobs. Any insight would be greatly appreciated TIA!!
  6. Same! It still says "received by the administrator". I'm wondering if I should contact Ryerson and ask. I called the SSHRC people today and they said it's up to the university to update the portal.
  7. Also wondering this!! Funny enough that the only school that hasn't been updated for me is the one I got an offer from..
  8. Hey guys! Like many of you, I've been constantly refreshing this forum and my SGS portal for the UofT 2-year MSW program. I was waitlisted 2 years ago but then removed my name from the list to take a full-time job at Sunnybrook. It's been really tough waiting as I have received an offer to Ryerson (MA Psychology), and the deadline to accept is April 15th. I just e-mailed Angela telling her my situation and hoping she'd give me more insight about admission but she replied with the same copy and paste e-mail about mid-April LOL (you just have to laugh). Anyway, I hope we hear some news soon! Feeling so very confused about what it is that I want to do as a career and I don't have too much time on my hands. Praying we don't have to wait until next week..
  9. STILL have not heard anything from OISE. When I emailed the APHD department a couple weeks ago they copied and pasted an e-mail to me essentially saying that I would hear back by the end of March. I also followed up a few weeks ago with the POI I interviewed with and NO reply. I honestly am really turned off and upset by how inconsiderate, non-transparent, and unresponsive OISE is. Maybe it's for the best that I won't be going there.
  10. I'm assuming anything we hear at this point from OISE will be a rejection? Even if we were shortlisted and interviewed?
  11. Should we assume OISE has sent out all their acceptances for MA programs?
  12. hey kind of a diff program, but was wondering if anyone has been accepted to the MA in DPE at OISE or knows anyone who has been? TIA!
  13. If anyone has been accepted to the DPE program at OISE or knows anyone who has, please DM me! TIA
  14. Hey guys! Just thought I would share some good news I received yesterday School: Ryerson University Type: MA Psychology Acceptance/Waitlist/Rejection: Acceptance Date Notified: Mar 7 DM for POI: Yes!
  15. I think you can get accepted without one! I might be wrong though. The program I interviewed for was DPE though, not CCP
  16. Like many of you, I’m waiting to hear back from OISE and my interview with my POI was on Feb 3rd. I haven’t heard from them since then. Do you think it’s appropriate to follow up with them regarding my application? I remember them saying I could speak to grad students and join a lab meeting as the next step but that never happened ... is this a bad sign or can connecting with their lab happen after acceptance?
  17. Can you pls DM me if you've heard from Ryerson after being waitlisted or have heard back from OISE after being interviewed? TIA
  18. Has anyone on here heard back from the Developmental Psychology & Education program at OISE? I had an interview a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything since so I'm starting to get a bit worried.
  19. If someone got accepted to Ryerson with the POI LM, can you please DM me if comfortable?
  20. For those wondering about Ryerson, I was just notified via email that I’ve been waitlisted. I asked the grad program director directly about my status. He also said that all first round offers have gone out this weekend! Btw, if I’m waitlisted does that mean my prof didn’t have first priority to pick a student or that they picked someone else?
  21. Me too! It would be much appreciated. This wait is killing me.
  22. That’s a good point! Maybe they were able to get a head start (I hope) since all interviews were conducted prior to visiting day this year as opposed to last year. Side note: I always thought the limited amount of spots for clinical psych was due to the fact that profs have to supervise you 1:1 but there are 17 profs accepting clinical students this year at Ryerson for only 8 spots just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse LOL
  23. I think it's worth noting that last year, Ryerson's Visit Day was Feb. 10th which was the second Monday in Feb (same as ours). Acceptances went out by phone that same week on the Friday. People who were waitlisted were notified the following week. Let's hope some of us get acceptances this Friday!! Edit: if you search "clinical psychology ryerson" on the results page, you can see for yourself
