  1. 1. I found a list of cheap online colleges here. Also, if you're an employee at a university or work for the government, etc. (or are a spouse/partner of an employee at one of these places), sometimes there are programs where you can take a few classes for free or at a low cost, such as the University of Kentucky's Employee Education Program (where UK employees and their spouses/partners can take free or low cost classes). If you're interested, to see if your job has a program or to search for new jobs that have a program like this, you can search by using "employee education program" or "employee tuition assistance program." 2. I think you'd be "Attended college before / 1st yr." or "5th yr. / other undergraduate." From my search, people ususally recommend asking the program you've been admitted to (because it might differ between programs) or you can contact the FAFSA people.
  2. The committee said mid-march/end of March, so if it were me, I'd wait until April 1st to send another email.
  3. Wait. That can happen??? I’d email the POI and thank them so you’d at least have contact.
  4. University at Buffalo - PhD in Social-Personality Psychology - 01/10/2020
  5. I’d email tomorrow or Monday. Your POI may consider Saturday still within the “end of the week” time limit.
  6. I gave up on some schools and then someone got an interview invite a lot later than other people, so maybe who knows the exact dates. ?‍♀️ I wish we got ranges.
  7. Yes. Anything with no formal sub-areas. Welcome to the "Which topic do I even post in?" family!
  8. I haven't seen any, and I'm applying to the (general non-clinical) psychology program at Brown. I'll make one: Experimental Psychology/General Non-Clinical Psychology PhD Applicants Fall 2020
  9. Helloooo. I haven't seen a thread for this, so I thought I should start one. This is a thread for people applying to experimental or general non-clinical psychology programs that aren't formally subdivided into different areas (like social, developmental, cognitive, industrial, school, etc). What experimental/general non-clinical programs are people applying to? I'm applying to Brown's psychology doctoral program (within the Cognitive, Linguistic & Psychological Sciences Department).
  10. There’s another topic about this: Interview Day Overlap Summary: - Don’t cancel the 1st one. - Set up a Skype interview (or in-person if you can) on a different day for the 2nd one (It doesn’t have to be during that weekend). - Next time this happens, you can wait until the response deadline for the interview to see if you get any other offers (and go to your favorite).
  11. Ohhhh okay. Thank you! I’ll edit my post. (I’m applying to Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience area there, and based on the results page, it looked like they have in-person interviews. I assumed the other programs would be similar. My bad. Lol).
  12. Congrats on getting an informal interview! I assume she basically wants to see if you’re a good research fit and ask if you have any questions about the program or her research. I think phone interviews might be a way to weed people out who aren’t a great research fit (and to see if they’re worth inviting to the in-person interviews). I recommend preparing to state what your research interests are (in more detail than your statement of purpose), reading some of her research, and preparing questions about the program or her research. Edit: The social psych program doesn’t have in-person interviews. My bad. But I assume your prepare for it in the same way. See @Psygeek’s post below for more information.
  13. I also got an interview from Buffalo. I'll send you mine as well.
