Speaking for U of T. The usual trend is the advanced standing usually hears back a lot earlier than the two year.

From my experience on this forum, the early weeks of March are mostly advanced standing acceptances. While the third and fourth week are for two years. Everything is usually sent out by the first week of April.

Hope it helps. I know how much it sucks to wait.

Just got a call from U of T! Accepted into the 1-year advanced standing program! I'll be crying all day! My portal has not been updated yet in SGS. I got a call from Michael Shier into the Human Services Management and Leadership stream. I applied through the Black student application. I'm not sure if what stream you applied to makes a difference if they call or not. My Last name starts with an F. Good luck to all!
Ps. Would love to get a FB group going once folks here back!

Hi all. I've been lurking for a while but just wanted to share that I received my admission for the May intake of Laurier's Regular Track Part-Time Online MSW today. I'm a bit in shock - it's my first time applying, and the only school I applied for, so I didn't have high hopes! If anyone else is admitted for the same time/track, I'd love to get some kind of group started to connect

I was also accepted to WLU for the regular part time online MSW. I am still shaking and shivering a bit from shock, excitement, and maybe some nerves  I would be totally game to join an online group with other folks.

Hi all-I have been following this thread since the beginning but this is my first post. I wanted to drop in and share my experience for other folks who may be in a similar position as I was. I’m an advanced standing applicant who graduated from my BSW in April. My goals are in clinical practice, and I am a mature student residing in Toronto for the past 11 years with my partner, so I only applied to UofT, the health and mental health stream.

Like many I was waitlisted in February. I received an email this past Friday and was offered a spot in the program, which I will be accepting. All to say, there is hope! Sending good energy to all of you who are still waiting to hear!

Is that what happened? I received the full email then 3 hours later received a rejection email. I submitted end of January but assumed they had looked at my application but just chose others. My status never changed since Feb 3.
Overall the rolling admissions system does not seem to be working for them, hah. I'm super disappointed because I was previously waitlisted, and I have a new job with a really strong reference so I thought my chances were higher. Think I'll give up on the online programs and think longer about when I'm able to leave work for 2 years.. the full-time programs seem easier to get in to

    Hello,
    Congrats to everyone!
Very long time lurker, I was planning to apply a MSW before the pandemic, but then decided to hold off. It was the only program I applied to, and the first time. I was definitely surprised when I received the email this afternoon that a spot opened up, and I was bring offered a spot to the U of T 2-year MSW program (Mental Health stream). I only bothered checking the email I used to apply because I saw how many people were being accepted off the waitlist on here.
    Background:
I had about 13,500 hours from 2010 to now. The bulk of that has come from joining the leadership team of a grassroots organization in my community and a a couple recent full time jobs. Right now I work with Black identifying youth in the justice system, so spoke about that experience in my statement. My GPA was not very high, I believe 3.3 (out of 4.0) and high 70s for  my research courses. I did my undergrad at U of T, majors Sociology, Crim, minor Anthro. Then during pandemic, I  decided to do an Accelerated CYC program at Humber, and that helped me with getting two full time, directly related jobs during the pandemic. As well, more experience through placements.
If anyone has any questions, let me know. Just beyond excited to see you all in September.
*I am also hoping that someone has created a Whatsapp group, I will keep checking.
Does anyone know if there is a part time option for the program?

So I know Thomas Worcester personally. He's a racist. Low key, but a racist none the less and doesn't take kindly to the influx of Asian students in Toronto.
So, here's how you handle this:
Hit 'Reply' BUT add Pamela Couture (pamela.couture@utoronto.ca), she's the Executive Director of TST. You're also going to want to CC, and probably individually reach out, to the ARCDO office (antiracism@utoronto.ca) at the University of Toronto (https://antiracism.utoronto.ca/resolution/).
Write what you want in the email but call out Thomas. This isn't the first complaint against him. He'll apologize profusely, likely want to buy you a meal and "mend wounds." If you decide to accept, don't give in. This is what he does.

I GOT IN!!! FINALLY!!! This was my third try and I was going to give up after this. Thank you for this community for being so supportive of each other. I had a feeling I was going to find out today, and I'm so happy. Congrats to everyone who got in and hope to meet some of you (online) soon!

P.S. The program I got into is the non BSW part time online MSW at WLU

Well I got Into Laurier pt time online advance standing ?✌️ but as previously stated I will be declining the offer as I have already accepted my offer from Ryerson for their advanced standing program (I can't argue with the scholarship their offering and have already made extensive plans to move).
With this, I am incredibly humbled and flattered. I was told over and over my chances were slim because I am not a working professional. So for anyone who is like me and just has a butt load of lived experience and volunteer hours, it is possible to get in. (See my previous post for my stats).
Good luck to everyone on the wait list and future applicants!

    Thank you so much!
Of course, please see details below:
    Applied: Mid-December 2021
    Accepted: March 3, 2022
    GPA: 3.70 - UofT undergrad 2016-2020 (HBSc - Human Bio & Psych)
    Hours: + 10,000
Volunteer experience: at my local hospital and St. Mikes, research volunteer at Ontario Shores, kindergarten teaching assistant, KidCoach (FPK), and move coordinator for Shelter Movers.
Work experience: nothing too crazy I used to work at Starbucks and for the last 1.5 years I've worked at CAMH first as an admin and now I'm a research analyst.
I received my references from one physician that I worked under and the director of clinical research which I think helped out a lot.
I hope that helps let me know if you want me to provide any further information!

Casey, my heart goes out to you. I can only imagine how difficult the decision to decline was during this season's circumstances. May you find peace around the decision and see opportunities that life unfolds for you from here on out.
Also, biggest congratulations on your hard work being officially recognized by UofT ?

I would encourage anyone looking to be a behavioural interventionist to look into the criticisms of ABA therapy, especially from the perspective of adult autistics who have experienced it and attribute it to trauma. It is a highly controversial practice right now. Personally, I would avoid it.
