Saw some UNCW fiction acceptances on Draft. Does anyone know how they are notifying, or if waitlists/rejections have gone out?

I saw someone say they “think” they were waitlisted for UNCW on draft but I couldn’t tell you what that means exactly...best of luck!!!

Well after one reported fiction acceptance each for Notre Dame and UW yesterday, there seems to be no further word on either. It's always possible that only one person accepted posts between here and Draft, but it seems unlikely given the prevalence of people accepted to other big programs. So I don't know what to think of my chances.

Don’t give up hope just yet. I went to UW for my undergrad and they had a sliding acceptance, so there may still be a chance. If it doesn’t happen, you’ll be better prepared for next year, love.

Should’ve clarified, when I got accepted to the creative writing program there it was multiple waves in the acceptance to it. And, honestly, the undergrad acceptance was the same.

Feel you big time on that. I think it would help if I knew to be looking out for a phone call, email...any tidbit of info. But day by day.

Ahhh, literary vascillations. Fun times. ✌️

Hey, I went to UW for my undergrad too! But I majored in journalism. I know a lot of CW people, so depending on when you attended, we may have some mutual friends.

I was there 2016-2020. I attended after a few gap years following high school, so I had friends in my time there, but also had friends that were there 2011-2015.

Update on Notre Dame: I caved and emailed the grad school coordinator about expected timelines for prose applicant acceptances. I will keep us all posted. I'm tired of sitting around doing nothing. ?

You're doing the Lord's work.

Yay congrats!!! I'm glad you got confirmed confirmed. :D

On the small, infinitesimal chance that they happened to throw a morsel to us fiction applicants--do you happen to have any more intel on that front? ?

That's huge!!! Congratulations! I hope you get to celebrate all the celebrations and take all the shots!! ❤️?

unfortunately, no intel on that front. fiction seems to be painfully quiet at nd aaa good luck to yall!!

Thank youuuuu! ❤️ I emailed their grad school coordinator about prose track timelines, and y'all will be the first ones I tell if/when I get a response. It just felt so good to do *something*, you know? P.S. I'm so so happy for you that you got waitlisted!!! If we become classmates, how freaking cool!!!! Can you imagine? :D

Not too bummed about my NWP rejection. It doesn't look like I'm going to be wanting to go to TX any time soon.

Yeah, the whole "Now, EVERYONE can die in the name of pride--hooray!" vibe doesn't exactly make that the most appealing corner of the country to get cozy in over the next few years. But, c'est la vie. I hope you get into the program you want the most. :)

Hey pals! I am having a conversation this afternoon with the director of a program to which I was accepted. I'm stunned that I was actually selected by one of my top choices, so I'm having a hard time coming up with questions to ask! Any suggestions from folks who have gone through the process before, or are currently making decisions?

Yeahhhhhhh not just with the whole mask off thing, nor Texas being 100 percent clear to open everything at full capacity. Another thing to add onto the garbage heap is the disgusting situation with UT Austin, “The Eyes of Texas”, and their donors. While some of us don’t know about Michener acceptances yet, if I (a part black person) get rejected from Michener, I’ll be genuinely relieved.

Ughhhh gross, I didn't know about this situation at UT Austin. Cue me being unbothered when the rejection comes.
